April 22, 201115 yr http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhWhqhBthNg I am please to announce that this flag is for a club team in Uruguay. Too bad its the team i hate.
April 22, 201115 yr However in the Scottish league Rangers and Celtic are the dominant teams - the last time a different team from the 2 won the league was 1985. I still maintain, as I said to you last year or whenever, that they need to join the Premier League. It can be rebranded as the BPL or whatever, but seeing Liverpool-Celtic and Man Utd-Rangers matches on a yearly basis would be awesome. Plus Rangers and Celtic could do with a rise of stature to be competitive in Europe. Until the rise of Spurs and Man City in the last few years, the big four in England was so dominant that it just seemed like the gulf in quality was going to get bigger and bigger. This season... Man Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal are way ahead yet again while Liverpool, Man City and Spurs attempt to compete. Adding Rangers and Celtic into that mix considering their massive support, increase their revenue and put them into a bigger and more competitive field. All sides benefit. Even the Scotland national team could benefit from their young homegrown players being part of a more competitive league. Sure, even English players are struggling to breakthrough into the big teams these days, but others have admitted that they have gotten better due to the influence of these European footballers. Retaining national identity is patriotic in a way that I can understand, but I don't think its enough to dismiss all the other benefits. There was this guy many years ago who wanted his passport to say he was English and they wouldn't let him. He's British, you're all British... I support there being a British Premier League that includes Rangers, Celtic, Aberdeen and whoever else can cut it.

I too would like to see Rangers and Celtic in the Premierleague, but its not going to happen unfortunately. For one, if they were accepted into the English league system, they would probably have to start in League 2 (3 division down from Premierleague) and work their way up as other teams would say they need to earn it. That automatically means at least 3 seasons in lower leagues - so no European football which puts a massive dent into their financial capabilities (as it is, Rangers are in financial turmoil and rely on the £10m they receieve from competing in the Champions League). Secondly, I just read an article in the newspaper saying that the intensity of the rivalry this season (more so than in recent times, fueled by the fact they play each other 7 times rather than the minimum 4 times) and corresponding violence, sectarian singing etc means that English police forces would not want them to compete down south.

Good point, but I'm sure such a change to a BPL or whatever would mean reconfiguring the league to allow for Rangers and Celtic to move into the top tier. It would just be really silly for them to be in a lower league. The top 4 in the EPL make it to the Champions League so I guess if Rangers couldn't break the top 4 at first then they'd financially suffer too. What a shame, we all know what has happened at Liverpool and Man Utd are looking at a colossal nightmare a few years down the line with the way they're going. Yeah, I thought about that earlier too, but it would just take some work and adjustment. Look at where British football was in the 80s, it was an absolute disgrace where incidents like Hillsborough and Heysel just showed how pathetic it had become. Look at where we are now though or even in the mid to late 90s... it was WAY better, there's no reason people can't adapt again. I can imagine Rangers and Celtic vs. the Manchesters, Liverpool, Arsenal, and some of the London teams being heated. Probably even the Geordie teams would be a good rivalry. Some coaching of the supporters and maybe extra police could help at first. I don't know. It just seems like a real shame that this won't happen because of feared hooliganism and violence.
April 23, 201115 yr Author Final Rangers v Celtic match of the season tomorrow. Winner will have a massive boost towards winning the title. I am f*cking pumped up for it
April 25, 201115 yr Author Who won, schnelly? 0-0. Rangers are 1 point ahead with 4 games left, however unfortunately Celtic have 5 remaining so they are in the driving seat. Only faith I have is that Rangers have won the league on the final day 3 times in the past 8 years, so it's not over till it's over!
April 25, 201115 yr damn. now im pullin for Rangers to take it! Are you guys playing good teams? are they? keep us posted!
April 25, 201115 yr Author damn. now im pullin for Rangers to take it! Are you guys playing good teams? are they? keep us posted! 4 of the games are against the same teams but differ in terms of home/away matches. The reason for this is that after 3 rounds of matches (33 games from playing 11 teams x3), the league splits into 2 - top 6 and bottom 6 to get the remaining 5 matches to take it up to 38. Celtic's game in hand is away from home at a team they usually have a close game against but normally scrape a 1-0 win or something. Hopefully the other team in this instance can nick a draw. The big difference is the game against Hearts (from Edinburgh). Rangers have them at home whereas Celtic must travel to the capital where they have already lost this season. This match is the biggest chance for Celtic to drop points, and obviously I hope they do.
April 28, 201115 yr Author Anyone see the Madrid-Barcelona match last night? Such a farce how the players on both teams play-act! Though Messi's 2nd goal was sensational
April 28, 201115 yr Anyone see the Madrid-Barcelona match last night? Such a farce how the players on both teams play-act! Though Messi's 2nd goal was sensational I wish i couldve seen it. Too bad i dont have neither GolTV or ESPNDeportes
April 28, 201115 yr It was a really nice goal. Now, it will difficult to Real Madrid to win the series. 0-2 and the next game will be played at Nou Camp.
April 28, 201115 yr Anyone see the Madrid-Barcelona match last night? Such a farce how the players on both teams play-act! Though Messi's 2nd goal was sensational that goal was amazing and the play act did get barcelona a player kicked off the field which in turn got them the victory. Its part of the game.
April 29, 201115 yr Dont get me started on that game. I cannot believe how they were diving and such. I am a Madrid supporter but I have to say that Messi's second goal was amazing!
May 2, 201115 yr Interesting weekend in the EPL. Chelsea had a controversial win over Spurs (yay), Liverpool won again (yay) and Man Utd lost to Arsenal (yay). Arsenal must really be pissed off with their away defeat to Bolton and how they f***ed up a 3-1 lead against Spurs in the last few weeks.

Those hurt even more.
May 4, 201115 yr Hey, I want to know what you think Fox Sports using a new theme for its Fox Soccer telecasts? Check it out: At least the first part of the video, doesn't that remind people of the theme they used when they had the BCS games? :mis2 Anyway, what you think? They're probably going to use that theme before presenting the EPL, if not for the Champions League final.
May 4, 201115 yr Author Well it's now set - Barcelona v Man Utd at Wembley in the Champions League final. Should be a cracker!
May 7, 201115 yr As i speak Rotherham are winning 2-1 in the last game of the season. We have nothing to play for but if we win Torquay the opposition will miss out on the playoffs. Here is a video of our top strikers first 50 goals for us. He has them in just over 80 games which is less than 2 seasons. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=pgcVAOlFCvg
May 7, 201115 yr We win 3-1 hooray. A good end to our season. First win for the new manager and a debut goal for one of our youth products.
May 7, 201115 yr Author Can't say I know much about Le Fondre but I am familiar with the name since I watch Jeff on a Saturday afternoon every week!
May 10, 201115 yr liverpool wins 5-2. maxi rodriguez has played like a man possessed for the last couple of matches. he's always been one of my favorite liverpool players ever since i saw his goal for argentina against mexico. although i don't know where he'll fit next season when we get aquilani back from loan and gerrard from injury since our midfield will be at a surplus with lucas, gerrard, meireles, maxi, aquilani, joe cole, and kuyt
