Cubs pick Quade as new manager

CHICAGO -- The Chicago Cubs have picked Mike Quade (kwah-dee) as their new manager.


The team announced a two-year contract with Quade on Tuesday, with a club option for the 2013 season.


The 53-year-old Quade had served as interim manager for the Cubs after Lou Piniella stepped down in late August. He was the Cubs third case coach for nearly four seasons

The tone I get from Cubs fans is they like the hire as he did a good job in his short time.


What I foresee happening is the Cubs shedding payroll and terrible contracts over the next few years and when they are able to add payroll again is probably when they sacrifice Quade and get a big name manager.


Will be interesting to see what happens with Ryno.
