Chris Hatcher, formerly a catcher, is switching to pitching.Hatcher, the Marlins' fifth-round pick in 2006, pitched a little in college at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. He also has thrown a couple of innings at the Minor League level. January 20, 201114 yr The Marlins haven't faired that well with these conversions Jonathon Fulton and Kris Harvey off the top of my head.
January 20, 201114 yr NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The Marlins haven't faired that well with these conversions Jonathon Fulton and Kris Harvey off the top of my head. Rick VandenHurk was a catcher when we plucked him out and we converted him to a pitcher immediately. That's slightly different though. I feel like there was one other pen guy. I just remember knowing, around 2007-2008, that we had a ton of former catchers on our team playing all sorts of positions.

He was drafted as an outfielder and converted to pitcher.
