November 24, 200322 yr Author the top 6 automatically get in a BCS bowl (Oklahoma, USC, LSU, Michigan, OSU, Tennessee) any big 6 conference champions that are in the top 12 automatically get in. However, the ACC and Big East only get 1 automatic bid (Florida St.) after that, any team that's ranked 12th or higher can be invited (Texas, Georgia, Miami, Purdue, and Iowa I'm guessing will be in the top 12). Texas will obviously be the 8th team. so here are my predictions for the BCS games: Sugar (national championship): Oklahoma vs. USC Fiesta (big 12 vs. first pick of at large): Texas vs. LSU Rose (big 10 vs. second pick of at large): Michigan vs. Tennessee Orange (big east/ acc vs. third pick of at large): Florida st. vs. Ohio St. now, the Fiesta bowl doesn't necessarilly have to take Texas since they didn't win the Big 12. They could take OSU or Tennessee instead. Obviously they get to have LSU, but as for the other one, it will either be Texas, Tennessee, or Ohio St. So here are the possibilities: Sugar: Oklahoma vs. USC Fiesta: Texas/ Tennessee/ Ohio St. vs. LSU Rose: Michigan vs. Texas/ Tennessee Orange: Florida St. vs. Ohio St./ Texas/ Tennessee
November 24, 200322 yr The conference champions of the Atlantic Coast, Big East, Big Ten, Big 12, Pacific-10 and Southeastern conferences. These teams are guaranteed berths. BCSFootball.org Both the ACC and Big East are guaranteed births in the BCS. However, the Orange Bowl is tied into the ACC OR Big East Champion. They pick one of the two and then the other becomes one of the "at-large" choices. Also, according to the rules they have posted, the SEC has no official tie-in. The current teams in the BCS are: Florida State (ACC), Miami, (Big East), Michigan (Big Ten), Oklahoma (Big 12), USC (Pac-10), and LSU (SEC) Ohio State is NOT guaranteed to be in the BCS. The only teams guaranteed to get in from the Top 6 are NON-BCS conference teams that happen to make it up there. The highest ranking non-BCS team will be Miami (Ohio) at either 12 or 13. So, the current matchups are: Sugar (1 vs. 2): Oklahoma vs. USC Rose (Big 10 vs. Pac 10): Michigan vs. At Large Orange (ACC/Big East vs. At Large): Florida State or Miami vs. At Large Fiesta (Big 12 vs. At Large): At Large vs. At Large If the Orange picks Miami, then Florida State automatically gets one of the At Large spots, as does LSU. Other possibile at-larges: Ohio State, Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, Iowa, Miami (Ohio). Everyone else is probably too far back. Only other possible qualifiers: West Virginia, if Miami falls to Pittsburgh. Kansas State, should they shock the Sooners in the Big 12 Title Game. If I were to make my picks right now, I'd guess: Sugar: Oklahoma vs. USC Rose: Michigan vs. Texas Orange: Florida State vs. LSU Fiesta: Ohio State vs. Miami Any regular season re-match can NOT happen in the BCS, unless it's the title game. So, Michigan-Ohio State in the Rose or FSU-Miami in the Orange can't happen. Obviously, a lot could, and probably will, change.
November 24, 200322 yr Author so that means right now it doesn't look like Texas is going to play in a BCS bowl. the top six will be: Oklahoma, USC, LSU, Michigan, OSU, Tennessee Plus Miami and FSU both won their conferences and are in the top 12. So here's how the bowl games look: Sugar Bowl: Oklahoma (big 12 champs) vs. USC (pac 10 champs) Fiesta Bowl: LSU (SEC champs) vs. OSU (at large) Rose Bowl: Michigan (Big 10 champs) vs. Tennessee (at large) Orange Bowl: FSU (acc champs) vs. Miami (at large)

If you're in one of the 6 BCS conferences, the only way to guarantee a spot is to be in the top 2 or win your conference. (And Nebraska taught us all you don't have to win your conference to be in the top 2)
