November 24, 200322 yr I'm so happy about that, they beat Stanford in Palo Alto and are going to a bowl game for the first time since 96/ 97!!!!!! JEFF TEDFORD IS A FRIGGIN GENIOUS
November 24, 200322 yr Congratulations man. MacArthur is one of the most underrated players in the nation.
November 24, 200322 yr Author and at the same time, michigan's going to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 97/ 98. Maybe one day I'll get to see my dream of a Michigan- Cal Rose bowl
November 24, 200322 yr and at the same time, michigan's going to the Rose Bowl for the first time since 97/ 98. Maybe one day I'll get to see my dream of a Michigan- Cal Rose bowl Do you know what bowl Cal is going to? BTW, I expect Michigan to beat whoever they play in the rose bowl.
November 24, 200322 yr Author michigan's going to kill whoever they play. Too bad it won't be a Pac 10 team :angry that pisses me off. Even though WSU didn't qualify for the BCS they should still go to the rose bowl since the Pac 10 champ USC will be playing in the sugar bowl I don't know what bowl Cal is going to but even if they lose I'll still be happy.
November 24, 200322 yr I don't know what bowl Cal is going to but even if they lose I'll still be happy. It will likely be a lower level bowl with the 6-6 record, maybe that one that is in phoenix that i can't remember the name of. If Cal throws to MacArthur all game, they should win.
November 24, 200322 yr Author Cal's actually 7-6 and third in the Pac 10, so they should be going to a decent bowl. Between the Pac 10 and Big 10, 15 teams are going to a bowl game :thumbup
November 24, 200322 yr i think texas has the inside shot at the rose bowl right now from what i have heard.

Between the Pac 10 and Big 10, 15 teams are going to a bowl game :thumbup Oregon State is going to lose next week, so Cal will finish tied for 3rd in the Pac-10 with Oregon. I'm not sure who has the tiebreaker between those 2, so Cal will either get the pac-10 3rd or 4th bowl. I also don't know the bowl order of the pac-10, but I do know the pac 10 bowls are the Pacific Life Holiday, Insight, Las Vegas, Silicon Valley, and Sun bowl.
November 24, 200322 yr i think the sun bowl is the second pac 10 bowl game and the insight.com bowl is the 3rd pac 10 game
November 24, 200322 yr Ok, the pac 10's 4 seed goes to either the insight.com bowl in Phoenix, or the Las Vegas bowl in obviously Las Vegas. The Pac 10 3 seed goes to the sun bowl in El Paso. Link for info like this on all bowls as to what teams go where and such... http://community-2.webtv.net/The-Johnz/PAGE5/

If they hadn't beaten Michigan the Wolverines would be playing in New Orleans

Nice bowl for a 7-6 team, new year's eve bowl against a big 10 team on national tv (cbs) on new year's eve.
November 24, 200322 yr so it looks like Cal's going to the Sun Bowl against Michigan St. :lol Cal will beat up on Michigan State. Wow, a 7-6 team getting a new year's eve bowl against Michigan State, Cal should be very pleased :thumbup
November 24, 200322 yr Author i think that even though Cal won the tiebreaker the Sun bowl can choose to have Oregon play instead, which is what they're probably going to do
November 24, 200322 yr i think that even though Cal won the tiebreaker the Sun bowl can choose to have Oregon play instead, which is what they're probably going to do Ic...well in the insight.com or las vegas bowls, you'll probably face an even weaker opponent than Michigan State at least :thumbup
November 24, 200322 yr congrats, IU hasnt been to a bowl game since the early 90's... the Holiday Bowl I think... not sure if Trent Green was our qb or not
November 24, 200322 yr i think that even though Cal won the tiebreaker the Sun bowl can choose to have Oregon play instead, which is what they're probably going to do Yep. Bowl tie-in's aren't automatic by conference finish. For example, as brought up, the Sun Bowl is "Pac-10 Third." That just means they get to pick third of the bowls with Pac-10 tie-ins. Thus, if they wanted to, they could pick the 5th place team, as long as their eligible for a bowl. Still, the bowls tend to go by placement, since that's usually the best team left.
November 24, 200322 yr i think texas has the inside shot at the rose bowl right now from what i have heard. Nah, in the name of tradition I think it will be Pac-10 vs. Big 10. Michigan vs. USC, unless USC goes to the Sugar, in which case it will most likely be Washington St. Texas-Ohio St. in the Fiesta perhaps?

Texas-Michigan is probably going to be the Rose Bowl.

November 24, 200322 yr washington state has no shot at a BCS bowl.....besides the Rose Bowl is still pissed at them for not selling their tickets last year.
November 24, 200322 yr Since Ohio State is only gonna drop to 5th in the BCS, they're almost a lock for the Orange or Fiesta. They draw too well.
