Like not acting is never a bad thing. Talking to him will accomplish something, just not for Posey, and that's my point. I'm sure Cousins would appreciate it if Posey talked to him and accepted his apology, but Posey's indifferent about making Cousins feel any better even though he's acknowledged that Cousins didn't intentionally do it. Why is the imperative on Posey to make Cousins feel better? If he's not going out of his way to demonize him, attack him, villify him, or other make him actively feel worse, then I don't see why he's in the wrong. He has every right to either take Cousins' call or not.

 

I humbly would have to disagree with that statement. Whats after the comma does not negate what is said before it. Cousins is paid to make said actions if the moment calls for it. If a football player tackles another player and hurts him do you expect him to apologize for the tackle?

 

I think its perfectly fine for Cousins to realize that what he did is legal and should expect Buster to know what risks there are as a major league catcher. However he would be scum if he didn't feel bad about what happened and is in his right to feel bad solely about the injury that Buster incurred.

Look at it from Posey's perspective.

 

He's not sorry that he hit him. Even knowing that he's out for the year, he would do it exactlty the same way again. But that hit is what hurt Posey. Apologizing that he got hurt but not that he hit him isn't an apology. It's an expression of condolence, and there's nothing wrong with not taking that.

Ok children, seems we have a little misunderstanding of what acting like an "adult" is.

 

Cousins did nothing wrong by charging into Posey, as this is "baseball", and it is part of the game.

 

Cousins has the right to apologize or not apologize, it was a baseball play if he was more concerned with the Marlins and winning games he wouldn't give Posey a second thought in essence, he obviously didn't intend to hurt Posey and have him be out for the rest of the year.

 

He did the "adult" or the "right" thing to do by feeling bad for Posey and giving him a "teary eyed" apology.

 

An un-biased "adult" way to then handle this situation from Posey's point would be to accept the apology and reaffirm, that it was just "a baseball play" and part of baseball.

 

Instead Posey is acting like a "child" yes a "child" by not answering the phone and accepting things the way they are.

 

Now that we are done talking about the adult way to handle things I will let you know my feelings for Posey.

 

He's a PANSY! Change the rules for "you"? Hell no.
