Leo Needs To Go Now!

Featured Replies

If they kept him this long, there's no reason not to keep him next year. He's going to get his saves again, he's going to be a Type A free agent, and we'll just get the two picks.

I mean, unless if he's amazing next year and we're not in contention, maybe making some team get desperate for relief help. But his value will likely never be higher than it was this trade deadline because he's having a decent season and the club that would've gotten him could've controlled him next year. If he's traded next season, he's just a rental for the team acquiring him.

Also, I think it's silly when people say that Leo is having a better year this year than last because his save % is better. His peripherals were a lot better last year. I don't believe in "pitching to the situation;" I don't know this for a fact but it could be that he had to save more one-run games last year or something. Either way, he pitched better last year and just had terrible luck with the save %.

I wouldn't say he had terrible luck with the save percentage last year. It was where it should be, considering his ERA and the amount of HR's he gave up. It's more likely that he's getting lucky with his save percentage this year.

Either way, it's one or the other. Maybe a little of both.

He pitched better last year.

Basically, the difference this year is a huge drop in .BABIP, despite a higher LD% than last year. So, basically, luck.

Good points, I see where you're coming from, also with the BABIP.

Depressed about them not trading him. You've gotta sell him. His value must really suck for them not to pull a trigger on a trade.

I actually think Leo has been half way decent...we have seen much much worse with the likes of Gregg and Lindstrom so I wouldn't mind seeing Leo back next year...even though I would prefer they give the job to Mujica who's lights out...

I wouldn't mind keeping him next season and then letting him walk for the 2 picks.
