Marlins
Gonna be suspended...GOOD! @$$|-|013 According to Andy Soltis of the New York Post, Major League Baseball plans to suspend Delmon Young. An announcement could come Monday outlining the punishment. Young was arrested early Friday morning outside of the New York Hilton for pushing a man to the ground and making anti-Semitic remarks during what sounds like a drunken rampage. He was released on $5,000 bail Friday night but has been placed on the restricted list by the Tigers and must now be considered out indefinitely. Young was batting .242/.311/.333 with one homer and five RBI through his first 18 games.
Marlins
Suspended for 7 days... Major League Baseball has suspended Delmon Young seven days without pay for the incident that occurred outside of the New York Hilton on April 27. The suspension is retroactive, so he'll be eligible to return to the lineup on Friday. Young was batting just .242/.311/.333 with one homer and five RBI through his first 18 games, so it's not a big blow for the Tigers to be without him for a few more games. Andy Dirks, Don Kelly and Brad Eldred will continue to handle left field and the DH spots while Young is out.
