The red hot Washington Nationals are paying us a visit, and presenting us with the opportunity to knock them down a peg or two and move into at least second place in the division. This will not be an easy series for us, specially with Buck's horrendous slump, and the offense in general struggling with leaving runners on base. However, there is some good news for the Miami Marlins. The Washington Nationals have struggled offensively (averaging 3.7 runs per game) and have only great pitching to thank for their success so far. We also have great pitching, and are also struggling offensively, which means that we are just about evenly matched. I have no doubt we can win the series, and if the offense wakes up a little, we might even sweep the Nationals.

Go Fish!!! :gofish

I wouldn't say sweep. They "swept" us last time [2-0, rain out for game 3], and their pitching hasn't let up at all.

I know Mike, as a Marlins fan, one can have a little hope that this time around will be the moment in which we humble the Nationals. I know it's a tough series, but we will be hoping to win the series, if not sweep it. Never lose hope. The Marlins can be a frustrating team at times, but they are our team, and I will always remain a Marlins fan no matter how frustrating things are. So here's to hoping that this series (and season) will bring us many pleasant surprises. And if it's not to be, there is always next year....but it's too early for that kind of talk now.

They will sweep. Bet on it. Don't blame me if you lose your money.

I'm really nervous. The result of this series will be decided whether we can make the postseason, exaggeratingly.

  • One reason the #Marlins have won four of seven on the current 10-game homestand: Hitting with runners in scoring position. So far they are 28-for-83 (.337), raising their home batting average with RISP to .293 (63-for-215), third-best in the NL. Conversely, on the road the Marlins are 33-for-196 (.168) with RISP, last in the NL.

I see squall. Sitting next to his lady friend, I think.

Tell john Buck that Zambrano should be hitting ahead of him.

What the Buck just happened?

At the game. White shirt 2nd row behind home plate. Go marlins.

Quit texting!

Really? That's the Zimmerman you're gonna give up a bomb to.

How much do you want to bet Big Z comes out of his shoes next AB trying to hit a HR?

Yesterday, Nats got night game, then moved to Miami.

If we don't beat them at day game, what a shame.
