8/5 - Marlins @ Nationals

Hey guys, at least we are not the Astros, who may end up losing 110 games or more this year. Their ownership has gone on the mother of all fire sales and literally sold off the whole entire team for prospects. They are playing AA and AAA players almost exclusively.

At least we still have Reyes and Giancarlo, and Buehrle, etc.. Astros fans would kill for that.

Hooray. :|

I'm sure Astros fans would kill to lose 90+ games instead of 110 games...

Zimmerman almost hit himself in the face with the bottom of the bat after that strike out.

Seriously Ruggiano is not better. Sit him and let him get healthy instead o coming up an gettin a strikeout and risking further injury.

How do you guys feel about Loria owning this team at this point? A month ago I said something slightly negative about Loria and people jumped on my back. However, I feel like the sentiments about Loria may be changing over the past month.

Starting to get frustrated. Hopefully he gets a new fo in there and real changes are made.

Like wise. But have no real problem with Loria. I liked the moves at the beginning of the year. Players didn't play like they could. Not much you can do about that.

Well that's a touchy subject here, but I wouldn't mind a different owner, the right owner.

Loria loves baseball but too old to change. He's a micro-manager with an artist's mentality.

He can build a contemporary art stadium but not a baseball team.

I agree. :goodpost

It doesn't matter if the Marlins tie the game or take the lead, in the end they're just going to lose. And manage to do it in a pathetic way.

We'll have to see in a few years how their draftees develop but it seems like the Astros drafted well this year. Our team underperformed for most of the season considering their talent level and the FO is trying to shed themselves of the bad contracts they gave out (Bell, Buck, Nolasco). The expectations for the Astros and Marlins this year were very different so I doubt their fans are too disappointed in their new regime.

If I may say so, if we lose this game, it will be a very unoriginal way to lose. We have seen this type of game at least 20 times this year.

We have a meltdown in one inning and we lose the game because of it, followed by a very weak response from our offense where we only score in 1 inning. Been there done that (far too many times)
