Writing about sports for a living is a lot of fun but it's way more fun to write about a good team than a consistently infuriating organization like the Marlins.

He is extremely valuable and will have his pick of jobs. And those other teams will likely have more capital to spend than the Marlins.

​It's a sports team. It's not that serious. It is an extracurricular activity that should be entertaining to watch and talk about. The Marlins, and every other sports team, shouldn't be the part of anyone's 'identity'.

You're right lou in that this increases the chances of Stanton signing if offered a reasonable contract. Stanton may look at that beaning as a freak occurrence that probably won't happen in the next 2 years. Does adding a no trade clause for a 5 year deal help any? Marlins need any form of leverage they can get.

So stupid. Feels like the Marlins got the short end of the stick from officials this year.

Canada, Hech is older than Stanton and is NOWHERE near as good as he is. Stanton will likely be the NL MVP and be traded in the next 1-2 years. And the Marlins aren't going to the playoffs, so no need to live and die with every game and watch the WC standings. Rest of the season is to try out infield prospects. No need to get stressed or upset with this team. They're not worth it.

I am actually so angry that I can't throw things. But I just need to know why. Why did Mike Redmond seem to think that Sam Dyson could have handled that situation better than Mike Dunn? I am at a loss. I really do not get it. Maybe sometimes, Mike, its fine to go with the veteran or your gut based on how a guy is throwing instead of a rookie because he is right handed. Were gonna be out of this thing real fast. They are out of it. They might win a few games later and boost up fans' confidence, but it will be followed with many more error and mistake ridden losses. It was a lot for this team to even compete at this point.

Ok so this may be ridiculous to say but it looks like Stanton has given up on the team. I doubt it. He's gunning for MVP.

The team is probably going to trade him anyway but they messed up big. And they're probably not going to learn from their mistakes and wait to offer Yelich a contract also. We could have a good core to work around: Fernandez, Alvarez, Heaney*, Stanton, Ozuna, Yelich. We don't even know if Dietrich is a viable long-term option in the infield cause of how they're bouncing him around. Who trusts this organization to make and execute a long-term plan?

Well dont feel bad, the negativity has come from himself partly the last five years - the lack of clutch hitting and perhaps not resulting in more wins. Other factors are shoddy management, bad pitching, terrible ownership. All this can result in bad years all around. Stanton should be happy if we offered 12 million a year for the next five years. He certainly doesnt deserve 20 and for that matter nobody does. I dont understand why you invest 20 mil a year for ten years when you can take that 200 million and invest in five or six good players. I don't know why you dislike management because they seem to evaluate players the same way you do, with clutch hitting and RBIs. If you think Stanton (potential NL MVP) is that bad, wait til you see the Marlins offense without him.

Texas is doing their best to give us the game and tank their way to the #1 pick next year.
