May 26, 201511 yr So now that DJ has had a few games to show everyone just how much a manager matters in MLB, how long will it take for him to realize what an awful team he has put together and then resign in shame? He has shown absolutely no value to the team in any capacity that he has served them. He would probably spill beer all over the place and drop dozens of hotdogs, if he were to work the concession stands for a game. Now that he has gotten a chance to manage the garbage that he has put together, he must have come to the realization by now that he is not a very good GM. every time a pinch-hit situation arises, and he has to call Donovan Solano over to grab a bat- he must feel awful that he has himself to blame for the position he finds himself in. How long can he deal with the self-hate?
May 26, 201511 yr http://joefrisaro.mlblogs.com/2015/05/19/industry-watching-marlins-closely/ It’s also important to note, if Jennings doesn’t feel this is working, he is expected to go back to being the full-time general manager. That wouldn’t be until after the season. This will be the answer for you. DJ was Loria's man so DJ will not be resigned.

May 28, 201511 yr No he wasn't, Nightengale has bad sources or is just making shit up. Nobody was considered except DJ
May 28, 201511 yr No he wasn't, Nightengale has bad sources or is just making shit up. Nobody was considered except DJ dont you got a Starbucks field-trip to attend toooo
May 28, 201511 yr I wonder if they could have forced Ozzie to come back... That'd actually a good question, I say no
May 28, 201511 yr They would have had to sign another contract with him, and he would have been receiving two checks. He probably comes back if that was to happen. Money talks.
May 28, 201511 yr Depressing article... http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/mlb/2015/05/27/miami-marlins-dan-jennings-future/28021929/ silver lining: Jim Leyland met with the team. they should sign him to a 1 year deal for a ton of money next year (he's gonna need a lot to coerce him out of retirement) and go win a pennant.
May 28, 201511 yr Nobody else was considered because according to Craig Mish of 790 and Sirius, who actually has legit sources, said not wanting to pay a 3rd was absolutely a factor in picking Jennings.

May 28, 201511 yr Nobody else was considered because according to Craig Mish of 790 and Sirius, who actually has legit sources, said not wanting to pay a 3rd was absolutely a factor in picking Jennings. Of course. Knowing Loria it probably was the only factor. All he cares about is profit and winning costs money.
May 28, 201511 yr Dan Jennings: "Everybody is entitled to their opinion, and people want to focus on the negative." Seriously?? Seriously Dan?? Yeah let's focus on those whole 2 wins you've had in 10 games since you've been manager. Let's not focus on the train wreck this team is, and has been since Loria got here really, certainly since you became GM. Sounds just like Loria when people criticize them for the hell that they've put us through for 11 years. They just want to have carte blanche and play with their toy and don't want anyone holding them accountable. "Screw you fans. But why don't you like me?"
May 29, 201511 yr i really love this part about no one else was considered for the managerial job. My sincere hope is this experiment goes so horribly wrong that everyone is fired starting with Hill, Jennings and everyone else on down. The replacing of Beinfest with Hill was akin to changing deck chairs on a sinking ship. Don't get me wrong changes have needed to be made, but the Marlins consistently keep making bad ones. I really hope the first pick in the 2016 draft is worth this season's pain.

The teams problems don't really have to do with the guys in the front office, whether you like what they've done with the team or not. They are a lot closer to the bottom than they are to the top of the list of problems. Of course the first 100 reasons on that list are Jeffrey Loria.
May 29, 201511 yr Not even the fancier new plane the Marlins were promised has been delivered. As a result, they’ve had to put up with cramped planes and long delays because of one issue or another. LMAO! GTFO! I thought they had the plane. http://www.miamiherald.com/sports/mlb/miami-marlins/article22574760.html
May 29, 201511 yr Now shit has really hit the fan. Broken promises man! Give the guys their plane. Loria wins it again.
