Former Marlins Jason Wood will be managing the Surprise Saguaros and Matt Herges will be the pitching coach for the Mesa Solar Sox. Also former Marlin farmhand Dusty Wathan will manage the Peoria Javelinas.

Look for record setting SB champ Billy Hamilton and Mike Zunino among the up and comers in the league this year.

Good group of kids going to Arizona this year. Would love to have seen Fernandez there, but they way they are babying him with his innings, I understand why he wouldn't be there.

Games have begun, it looks like Brady is going to play after all. Yelich is hitting .333 through 3 games, Jensen .400, Realmuto got his first playing time yesterday. Brian Flynn took the loss giving up 2 ER in 3 IP, Scott McGough looked rough giving up 2 R, 1 ER in 1 IP.

A quick update on the AFL. The Rising Star game will be played Sat. and is to broadcast on MLB network 8PM Eastern.

for what it's worth Kyle Jensen's tearing up the Arizona League. Last night 3-3 with a homer, triple, and also walked. Now sporting .383/.448/.650/1.098. Keep in mind though he hit just .234 in AA Jax last season.

 

also Grant Dayton really needs a look in spring training. 15 Ks now through 8 innings, and that's not new for him. Probably should've been moved through the system a little quicker.

Billy Hamilton is so f***ing fast ...

He stole third and covered about 75-80 feet in about 2.3 seconds.
