Hey y'all... Within the past year I've bought a ps4 and have been able to manage some gaming back into my life though it's still limited overall. A big part of it, which actually has drawbacks along with its positives, is that I've got a seven year old boy who I can play along with. I missed the first two Batman arkham games as they were on ps3 but, if I read correctly, they'll be released on ps4 in July. I'm a huge Batman fan since I was a kid and the movies shows cartoons games everything still appeals to me. I've avoided the most recent two arkham games knowing it was a series and not wanting to start at the third game. Now that I have a chance to start at the first game I'm curious if I should dive in. Has anyone played these games? Would you recommend it? Knowing I'll want to play all four games is it worth the time it'll take me? And lastly, kind of a big one, with a seven year old who loves Batman as well he'll be drawn to this... is it actually age appropriate for him? Seems a bit adult oriented and if I can't enjoy it with him it would be a huge turn off. Thanks.

You're so helpful.

Wow, where to begin... The Arkham series is probably one of the best video game series ever released. Story wise, it's amazing, visually it's jaw dropping, and the action is exactly what you would come expect from the Dark Knight.

Rocksteady has managed to accurately portray all of Batman's enemies, and the fact that they used Mark Hammel to go back to his role of the Joker, is amazing. Even after you beat Arkham Asylum and move onto the second game you'll notice just how real Gotham feels.

If you're concerned about maybe it being too sensitive for your son, you won't have to worry about that. There's hardly any cursing and no gore at all.

Thanks Ed! Good to know. Last question, maybe I'm wrong but I swore perusing through the ps store that at least one of the games is rated M. I'm not putting my boy in a bubble but he's still just seven, why'd it get an M rating then if it's not gory or cursing like u said?

The most recent one is rated M for vulgarity and violence but nothing too crazy. I think the plot is pretty mature too, but I doubt a 7 year old will be able to grasp it.

Good enough for me. Thanks man.

Games suck. Watched someone play it once and all I can remember is flying around like a stupid bat in a city

:)

Scarecrow scenes are scary

Yeah for a young kid these parts are pretty dark, especially flashbacks showing Bruce Wayne's parents dying.
