All these threats are making me nervous.

 

If Cashner finishes out the season well with us, I would definitely like bringing him back. I just don't think it'll get done because SP's will get overpaid big time, FA is quite bleak. I'd like to bring in Justin Turner to replace Prado at 3B. We need more pop. We hit way too many singles. Only way I want Prado back is if we bring him back to play 2B along with Dietrich and then they can rest Turner and Bour on off days and we trade Gordon for a SP.

 

We need more power from the CI spots period. We are 2nd in the league in Batting Average .272 and somehow 15th in OPS and 21st in Runs Scored. That's not good enough, not even close.

 

 

Trade Ozuna for SP if and only if we get a guy like Reddick. I'm just afraid it will be hard to find another 25-30 HR guy to replace him. He might be good to keep around another few years, but he's our best chip to get a number 2 behind Jose. Like many here have said, Ozuna will be a nightmare when it comes to his next contract and his "wtf" plays will increase tenfold.

 

Keep Prado...we won't find a .300 guy out there, even if he has little power. If he can stop grounding into eight million double plays that would help too. Upgrade backup righty 1B. Keep Rojas...he's cheap and can play everywhere. Bring Ichiro back. Upgrade from Gillespie.

 

It sucks knowing we are going to be bargain hunting once again. There's not really a top flight FA starter I would throw money at, but we could lock up our own guys. Just give Jose eight years 250 mil already.

He has 2 arby years in there and the whole point of buying out FA years is to get a more team-friendly deal. Giving him 8/250 right now would assume all risk for the team with basically no reward.

 

 

FA crop this offseason is GARBAGE.  Personally, I'm hoping Bonds sticks around for at least one more season since the team took some strides this year in showing a bit more patience and is generally hitting better.  I'm hoping with another year under his belt working with the guys can get them to take another step (i.e. actually driving in the runs).  Maybe it's just been a fluke season with the guys having higher averages but I still think Bonds ended up being their best offseason pickup. 

 

There are going to be some HORRENDOUS contracts handed out this offseason which means the fish aren't signing anyone who's above replacement level.  How do I know this? Because you see Loria is still requiring cash to be coming back in trades so despite being able to afford some bad contracts to get this team over the hump he won't do it because he's one cheap bastard.  Yes, I'm advocating taking on some bad contracts simply because that's really the only way I see this team taking the next step in 2017 and being a legit contender.
