December 16, 200322 yr I got to disagree with you Ramp here. Benitez could be cheaper than Looper and has stats that Looper can only dream about at this point. I just dont feel totally confident with Looper as the closer. I am afraid he doesnt have the mentality to close. That said, I am not more confident with Benitez. He could turn it around, yes, and Looper could learn an out pitch. But I dont expect either to do so and the market now is somewhat depleted and down to the last remnants of arms for the pen. I dont expect more from Benitez than from Looper, but he is more experienced. I rank Williamson higher than both and would trade Redman for him (and some other prospects...). But if we could get Loop, Benitez, and Williamson all in the same pen...now, we are talking.

December 17, 200322 yr Scott Williamson. Benitez has a history of blowing games and being way too wild. Plus scouts say he lost his fastball. He still throws 98 but his fastball has no action. So i would rather take Williamson, who isnt too bad. He has a great sinking fastball and quality stuff for a closer.
December 17, 200322 yr guys its armando benitez, one of the best closers in the league untill last year , with those bloodsucking mets fans down his back, look at his numbers besides the blown saves, sick, and the fish are the reason why he has a few of those BS so those dont count :lol
