How did the Marlins decide on their last 6 free agent signings?

Maybe it’s a good thing the Marlins didn’t have the resources to dabble in the free agent market this winter... Because it’s difficult to imagine any team faring worse in free agency than the Marlins have the past three years.

 

The source said president/baseball operations Mike Hill shouldn’t be held accountable for many of the moves because “people without full accountability had more power under Jeffrey” than the baseball operations president.

That doesn't mean our boy didn't have a say in these. I was thinking Loria had told them to make these moves, but all the article says is that Loria gave power to multiple individuals. The fact that the people with unusual power were fired and latched on to good saber-friendly clubs (and had a good pedigree to begin with) makes me think that Hill really was the retard behind these signings.
