January 10, 200422 yr uh duque didnt have just 1 good season 98 was his only good season... Contreras has probably been the best cuban yet. He blew up against the marlins because he was stupid and he didn't warm up. once he warmed up he was fine. i think given more innings, contreras will prove himself, he has very nasty stuff, but he has to watch out and not lose control over the zone. M-rod isn't proven enough to warrant 8,000,000 a year. I see the yanks signing him, putting him in AAA or relief when karsay is still on the DL, and use him to replace rivera when he retires after this year to build churches in panama. However, no cuban pitcher has lived up to the hype, and with a 3.11 era in cuba and a nack for walking tons of guys, i'm not high on him. January 10, 200422 yr uh duque didnt have just 1 good season 98 was his only good season... 17-7 in '99. That's good in my book. He hasn't been very good since though. I don't know some people still consider him an "ace" which he's never been.
