7/18 vs Brewers

Featured Replies

The Marlins were 13-0 with Max Meyer, Sandy, or Eury starting in June. 7-6 with bullpen games or long relief guys starting games. It is pretty obvious that you need to maximize the amount of time that Meyer, Sandy, and Eury are pitching to get the most wins. Skipping their starts loses games. Pulling them after 3 because they had no command as a result of you skipping their last start going into an extended break loses games. These loses pile up. At the end of the year it will cost you.

Also, I am not blaming Clayton for sitting Meyer. That was on the front office and it has burned us twice.

there’s also a very significant talent gap with team compared to the good teams

They could have won last night if the ball hit by Heriberto drops in the 9th. They could be leading today if Clayton did not have a hard on for Faucher. Brewers are good for sure, but the Marlins have had plenty of shots to win these games.

Who would you put in instead of Faucher? This is a very thin, mediocre bullpen with bender hurt and Phillips starting (when he should be a RP). They never had a chance this game with the pen they have and Max only pitching 3ip.

The brewers played flawless yesterday on defense and pitching which is their MO, but agree we did have our chances yesterday. Pulling griffin for Leo was certainly a move too
