February 5, 200422 yr It appears he did some things to get rid of the "boredom" he had at UF UM Signee Willie Williams to face charges stemming from recruiting visit By Pat Dooley/Sun Sports Writer Carol City High School linebacker Willie Williams signed with the University of Miami on Wednesday but before he plays for the Hurricanes he has some legal problems in Gainesville to clear up. Three separate sworn complaints were filed against Williams after his recruiting visit to Gainesville last weekend. The first was for battery on Saturday night on the second floor of the Reitz Union. According to a University of Florida Police Department report, Williams grabbed a female student from the front against her will while she was walking to the stairs with her boyfriend. The second incident occurred at 2:30 on Sunday morning at the Royal Blue Night Club. Akeem Thompson of Gainesville told the Gainesville Police Dept. that Williams "started hitting him with his fist for no apparent reason." Thompson picked Williams out of a photo lineup and Williams later admitted hitting Thompson. Two hours later, according to the UPD, Williams discharged three fire extinguishers at the UF Hilton Conference Center where the recruits stayed during their visits. The latter charge is a felony. Could it be a bit of Jelousy from the Gators? :shifty

February 5, 200422 yr And another Willie Article c/o The Herald Miami's top recruit faces battery charges in Gainesville MARK LONG Associated Press CORAL GABLES, Fla. - Miami's top recruit is facing three sworn criminal complaints stemming from his official visit to the University of Florida last weekend. Willie Williams signed a national letter of intent to play for the Hurricanes on Wednesday - capping coach Admin Coker's strongest recruiting class in four years - but the linebacker's legal problems could jeopardize his future with the Hurricanes. Williams is accused of misdemeanor battery in two separate cases. He also faces a felony charge of obstructing fire extinguishment - a more serious crime than the battery charges, but one that could be the least of his worries. The State Attorney's Office in Gainesville will investigate the sworn complaints before deciding whether to officially charge Williams. "Sure it concerns us," Coker said. "We'll look into it, we'll see what the attorneys say and we'll see what all the allegations are out there." According to a University of Florida police report, Williams hugged University of Florida student Joanna Braganza without her permission Friday night at the student union. Braganza did not see Williams when he approached her, and since she could not see his face, she thought she might know him. When she realized she didn't, she started to push away from him but he would not let her go, according to the sworn complaint. As she walked away, she told Williams he was being disrespectful. Williams responded by saying, "Who do you think you are? You're a dime a dozen," the complaint said. A few hours later, early Saturday morning, Williams allegedly punched Akeem Thompson "for no apparent reason" at the Royal Blue Night Club. Thompson was treated at Shands Hospital for bruises on his cheek and a lacerated lip, Gainesville Police said. Thompson said he lost his watch, necklace and $200 during the fight. Thompson identified Williams from a photo lineup Monday, police said. Each battery charge is punishable by up to a year in jail. The obstructing fire extinguishment charge could be much more serious, but State Attorney Bill Cervone said his office has the "discretion to deal with it differently." "This can be a very serious charge, but it's not intended to be used in cases where people pull fire alarms or spray extinguishers," Cervone said. Williams allegedly discharged three fire extinguishers on the fourth floor of the University Hilton Conference Center early Saturday, a little more than an hour after the alleged fight at the club. A hotel guest saw Williams discharging the extinguishers and told investigators in which room Williams was staying. Williams later admitted discharging the fire extinguishers, university police said. "These are serious allegations, and this is a situation we take very seriously," Coker said. "However, we do not have a depth of knowledge about all of the facts of the situation. To comment any further would be inappropriate." Williams, a Parade All-American and the No. 2-ranked player in the country by SuperPrep magazine, chose Miami over Florida State at a news conference at Carol City High in Miami. The 6-2, 225-pound Williams first put on a Florida State jersey and hat, then put on a Miami jersey and hat as teammates, classmates, family members and friends waited for him to announce his decision in the school library. He then took off the Hurricanes stuff and shook his head, before saying he was going to Miami. After he signed his letter of intent, he called Miami linebackers coach Vernon Hargreaves to tell him the news. He also tried to call Seminoles coach Bobby Bowden, but said he got a wrong number. If Williams is allowed to attend Miami, he probably would help right away. The Hurricanes lost five of their nine linebackers off last year's team, including starters Jonathan Vilma, D.J. Williams and Darrell McClover. Reserves Carl Walker and Jarrell Weaver also graduated. "He's going to have a great opportunity to have an immediate impact," Coker said of Willie Williams, who plans to wear D.J. Williams' No. 17 at Miami.
February 5, 200422 yr if you really DO know willie, is he really that smart? no hes not smart. ill tell u that his gpa is up alot cuz for 9-11 grade he was at bay point taking kindergarden classes lol and at pace they were uping his gpa so he could play football and privete schools always do that. for sats his 1070 prob real but he took it like 3 times probly and also thats all he studied for. hes not smart. nobody from bay point is. if he woulda been a normal student he probly wouldnt even have a 2.0 gpa lol. and i dont kno willie personally. just when i was at his school they always talked bout him and how u can be like him and his whole life story. and we saw him alot on teh weekends and also nate harris. but i wasnt buddy buddy w. him. just aquaintece w. him.
