Will Pudge's departure have a big impact?

Featured Replies

I heard Pudge was not a fav. of the pitchers. Is there validity to that statement? Any thoughts on if he'll have a big impact on the team now that he is not with them whether positively or negatively?

Not a "fav by the catchers" ???? what does that mean?

Of course Pudge leaving will have an impact. Still, I don't think that impact can be measured at 10 mill per year. Just my opinion.

Pudge's veteran leadership skills will be missed, make no mistake about it. He brought a presence to the lockerroom that really sparked the run towards the World Series.

Unfortunately, at 33-years old in a catchers position that seemingly becomes more and more obscure by the season, 10 million bucks is a bit much to expect.

Yes it will have a big impact. He was the team leader along with Lowell, he gave energy into this club when it needed it. Pudge came up big when we needed as well. Pudge did a great job behind the plate decreasing the running game by alot and helping the pitchers a whole lot as well. We will miss him, i hope he has a great year with the Tigers but he needs to remember one thing, he wont take that team to the playoffs/worldseries like he did to us.

I've heard otherwise form some.

I think it would have an impact. In one of Beckett's interviews, he was saying how experienced Pudge is, and that he was a lot of help in winning the World Series. Even though one man alone can't win it, but Pudge was a good team player.

Well it's our fault pudge did not re-sign,we offered him 6 mill per year for 3 years which is 18 mill in total, the 20 something million$ were just rumors, well atleast that's what pudge said.

I dont think its our fault at all....

we made him a very nice offer

he didnt want it

end of story

Yeh that's what I think to Wild Card.

Damn greedy ass pudge...IT'S 2 MILLION AWAY FROM 30 MIL.

No way we were going to give him 40

Pudge was talking about the marlins not so long ago(it was today though)and he said the most the marlins offered was 6 mill per year, how many years?i don't know, but i think three. What would you rather take?

A.3 Year's $18 million.

B.4 Year's $40 million.

That's all i've got to say...

A.3 Year's $8 million.

B.4 Year's $40 million.

um
