THE Game happens live at 7 PM from the Gouizeta Center a.k.a. Roca's House of Pain.....it's getting closer.....

If you don't know what THE Game in THE Rivalry is, you don't know anything about High School.

i think you are making a pretty big deal about this....

i think you are just kidding on how big your rivalry is compared to everything

atleast i hope you are

I do not kid in matters such as these.

You tend to build these things up when it's rare to have a Belen group and a Columbus group in the same area without a fight breaking out and the game hasn't been played on your court in about 20 years. After this year (my last year anyways), we might not play them again in basketball until my kids go to Belen. So yeah, it's that important.

Im not doubting its importance but you say this... "If you don't know what THE Game in THE Rivalry is, you don't know anything about High School."...

I had never heard about either school till 1 week ago, whats your point?

Miami High Schools anyways.....It's pretty well known in the area that if you know that either Belen or Columbus exists, you know they don't like each other much.

Yeah.....it's always fun when a gym oversells the fire hazard by 20% or so.

WOOOOO!

Sorry, had to say that. 55-54 was the final score, Belen won. Greatest experience ever being in the building for that game. Beyond awesome. The final play was Eric Diaz (Columbus' star player and a Belen dropout) taking a shot with 7 seconds left, getting rejected by Guard Alex Telleria, getting it back, putting it up with 4 seconds to go, getting blocked by Center Raul (Don't remember his last name, too happy), getting it back, putting it up one last time with 2 seconds to go, Raul blocking it again, and the ball slamming to the court as time expired. The place exploded. An experience like non-other.

Not something easily forgotten.

Juanky I saw that you posted in the "Community Thread" that Belen had its first ever dunk just this season and I was wondering how can this be that much of a rivalry when the school is for midgets who can't dunk and probably suck at basketball. If I interpreted the post correctly then that is sad that no one had ever dunked at Belen before that.

Well, my thoughts on the dunk turned out to be incorrect. This is the first time Belen has a good basketball team in my years there. Apparently, in the early-mid 90's and before they were pretty good at b-ball. Jerry's dunk against MAST last Tuesday was the first dunk in Belen since 1995. But since I got there in 1998, all that happened before is irrelevent :D

i dont think i can go to a school with 3 thousand penises walking around.

poor guys

no wonder high school basketball is so important to them
