Mark Redman Having a Rough Spring

Featured Replies

Analysis: Redman has allowed eight runs and 12 hits in only 4 2/3 innings this spring. Do not panic and drop Redman on your cheat sheet yet, but monitor his next couple of performances.

When alot of the Marlins showed their true colors and had fantastic post-season performances last year, Redman continued to struggle.

Thats true. He was on the snide on the way to the postseason and stayed there the whole time.

Redman is going to be so overshadowed over there with the A's. Mulder, Zito and Lilly...with the way those guys pitch, he could pitch 4 hitters and still look bad.

Lilly is a Blue Jay now.

It's Mulder, Zito, Hudson, Harden, and Big Red

Thats even more overshadowing

In spring training pitchers are throwing at even lower speeds because they are not in shape, correct?

guys, it's spring training. If the guy is not sharp come his last start, then I would worry.

Exactly. Although PPS/our defense did kind of shelter him from getting shelled more than he should have, he'll be decent for Oaktown.

Why does everyone think this guy is crap when during the regular season he has consistantly pitched better than Pavano?

Agree, he is not crap. I hope he has a great year in the A's uniform.

I just don't see him doing as well in Oaktown as he did last year for the Fish. He doesn't have the same infield defense behind him and he's back in the AL where his numbers were never very good anyway.

Redman isn't crap but Pavano has shown improvement whereas Redman has not and clearly Marlins brass saw the same thing and shipped Redman off.

I was at game 3 of the NLCS and he just didn't look like he had anything. His stats weren't too bad, but I cringed every time he pitched. I felt the same way the entire playoffs. However, I hope he does well. It's not like he left via free agency and told the Fish to screw off.
