I never thought legacy would come out in favor of something like this. No I'm actually playing devil's advocate. For some reason I get annoyed b ythe way GM responds to things. My actual opinion is that FISA protections along with information sharing among law enforcement agencies is enough and there is no need to expand any of this. Even if it is good for the war on terror it sets a precedent for future executives to possibly use these ability in ways that are detrminental to our freedom What, I can't make a passionate argument? I'm just tired of the administration using national security to justify just about anything they do. Its nothing personal, it sjust that too often you argue with facts that are not definitive and you present them as givens, so i like to counter those arguments with the opposing facts to stir discussion

What does that have to do with Gore preaching use of green energy but failing to use it himself? I don't believe that it has been said by more than one source. Like I said before, even if that's true, it still shouldn't take away from the message. It's not a surprise to me that the program was ruled unconstitutional. Unlike the USSR, the United States government isn't allowed to use 'state secrets' as a justification for spying on Americans. Everyone is ignoring the realty here. Beckett, burnett, and penny were not as good as johnson, nolasco, and olsen in their rookie seasons. The previous three all had problems with egos, with adjustments, and injury. So far the latter three with the exception of olsen have been more mature, the new three have been more consistent and more willing to listen to advice to develop into better players and as of yet have been healthier.

Regardless of the motivation behind the writiong of the article, the facts stated if they are true are not petty. The problem betwen the inequality of 'killers' is exactly why eliminating the death penalty will be very difficult to do again. You commit 1st degree murder a crime considered more heinous than second degree. Right now the detah pently is available for murder 1, if it gets banned whats the max penalty for murder 1? Life in prison without possibility of parole. However, thats already the max penalty for murder 2. So what do we do? Decrease the penalty for murder 2 to accomodate this? Or give both murder 1 convicts and murder 2 convicts the same penalty? Very difficult decisions that would have to be made for sentence disparity.

Always a problem in this country with petty politicking. Much the same way dems use Iraq death tolls to politicize anti-war campaigns. you always have these kinds of people on every side of the poltiical spectrum

For those wondering where most of the shrinking defecit came from, a devalued dollar, and Europe's decline. Our defecit with countries like China, Mexico, ect... increased. This is a nice little boost, but is not that significant. The economy is still headed for a slowdown this fall when higher interest rates from earlier in the year hit, the slowdown in the housing market, and other factors slow our growth to about 2.5 to 3.0, which will prop the defecit back up to closer to what it was. Well the thing is right now housing sales have slowed b/c costs have gone up, soon when costs start to go down people will begin to purchase more housing, which means more money circulating around. Always good for the economy. This is just one of those things that shows the cycular nature of the economy

Sectarian violence is not terrorism, or at least not the international kind. Unfortunately our actions in Iraq have created a situation somehow worse than even during Saddam's rule, which I never would have guessed. Youre so blinded and misinformed its not even funny. Worse than Saddam? Worse than the gasing of over 100,000 Kurds? I'm not here to say the war is a good thing but come on. Furthermore, Iraq may be but should definitely not be the #1 issue in any upcomig elections. Not only that but if you think this attack is happenign bc of any actions we took in Iraq, youre sadly mistaken. The terrorists might use Iraq as their jusitificaiton for the world media, but terrorists have been planning these attacks long before Iraq. For some reason GM, everything that ever happens always comes back to Iraq in some way, if yo uwant to argue that terrorism is the fault of the west go for it, but dont be so shortsighted to blame it all on iraq.

Stop sipping Tommy Hutton's Kool-Aid. Like any business it is their responsability to give customers a reason to come out to the ballpark. It is not for them to say winning alone should do that. We had John Henry tell fans Dolphins Stadium served up a horrible baseball experience. Loria and Samson have told us that if we give them hundreds of millions of dollars we can have a baseball experience like other cities. So even they say its not only about winning. So obviously the experience inside the ballpark is less than acceptable even though the product on the field is competitive. We can go through the Marlins timeline. Different owners, different promises, different payroll corrections, and different threats to contract or move the team. Last I saw, attendance was growing year after year until Loria decided to tear apart the team. It does not matter how good or bad the team is, it matters that fans were turned off by what the owner of this business did. Tommy Hutton is not obligated to eat at the Jupiter Ale House and no one talks down to him on a daily basis if their customer traffic is slowing down. I love Hutton but he really needs to calm down and stick to the game. It is not for him to tell anyone how to spend their hard-earned money.
