Find member's posts
When I'm looking at a member's profile and click "Find member's posts" there seems to be missing posts. There is only one post listed per page. I've tried this several times with several members, all with the same results. Okay, I confess. I was cyber-stalking 14 Year Old Boy when I discovered this glitch. :shifty

Good News and Bad News on Lowell.
To my ears, this isn't good or bad news, but non-news. It's next to impossible to assess possible outcomes from media hiccups. And yesterday on the Dan LeBatard radio show, Samson sounded rather less encouraging.

Heinz the best dressed of the two first ladys?!?
I just noticed that MB.com's newest member is "14 Year Old Boy." I wonder if that's the same cop who arranged to meet Kamal? Is MB.com the subject of a sting operation? :mischief2

Ticket Prices
I was one of the lucky few that got World Series tickets last year through Ticketmaster. Of course, I used them myself, but all the time I kept thinking how much money I could make if I were interested in speculating. So, as soon as the Sox won, I went online to see how tickets were being distributed and what they were going for. Apparently, if you wanted tickets to the Sox post-season, you had to send a request early in the season and enter a lottery. Ticketmaster was NOT involved. Anyway, my real gripe about all of this (it was the same one I had last year) is that the money is being made, but the franchise is seeing none of this. It's going into the pockets of sleezy ticket brokers. I know nothing could be done about it (and I wouldn't want to interfere in the free market process) but it just kind of stuck in my craw last year that cheap ($60) tickets were going for around $250 and the Marlins weren't going to see any of that.

Is this really Happenning?
When I was in the City this summer, the papers were full of stories similar to this one from New York Business News: July 29, 2004 Yankees plan to build new stadium by Anne Michaud The New York Yankees plan to announce within the next two weeks that they want to build a new, $750 million stadium across the street from Yankee Stadium. The new stadium would be in McCombs Dam Park. According to sources close to the deal, the team will ask for $450 million in public infrastructure investment to build a hotel and conference center, a new Metro North stop, and a ferry landing, as well as three new parks elsewhere in the Bronx. Under state law, the team must replace the parkland it uses. The team will likely seek to finance the facility by issuing tax-exempt Industrial Development Authority bonds. Sources say revenue from the new stadium would more than pay off the bonds. The Yankees were at first looking at a design that would have increased luxury boxes to 70. But the design did not work well, and the team is now planning 50 to 52 skyboxes. A spokesman for the team says the Yankees are continuing to work out the details with the Bloomberg administration and that an announcement is expected in the coming weeks. According to sources, Bronx Borough President Adolfo Carrion played a major role in bringing the city and the Yankees together. Link to story At the time, it was presented rather like a fait accompli. To be honest, though, I haven't followed up on the story. However, I vaguely remember half-listening to a similar story on ESPN last week. Does anyone have more recent (and verifiable) information?

Schilling's Shoe
Yeah...I noticed that and wondered what it stood for. Thanks for the clarification.

Hey Red Sox fans....
I wasn't questioning your allegiances, just your logic. The way you stated the original proposition, you seemed to suggest that being a Braves fan automatically makes one a Sox fan. That is a non sequitor. As for the rest: I doubt anyone here really cares what teams you follow or why. But it is rather fun to see you squirm.

Is this really Happenning?
I sensed the end was near when I heard that the Yankees were moving out of the House that Ruth Built.

Hey Red Sox fans....
my grandfather played for the Boston Braves, and he was a huge Red Sox fan Why would someone who played for the Boston (aka Atlanta) Braves be a Red Sox fan? In Boston, the Braves were always the unwanted stepchild. Ergo, Braves fans hated the Red Sox, like White Sox fans hate the Cubs. ?????????

"Worst Baseball Cities"
Sounds like a fair assessment ... unfortunately.

HEADS WILL ROLL!
Steinbrenner apparently has already met with Cashman and told him his job is safe ... for now. The decision could be revisited during their winter organizational meeting.

HEADS WILL ROLL!
Whose going to take the heat for the Yankees inability to close the deal for the 4th straight year?

Makes perfect sense.

Here we go!
A-Rod deserves the flack after what he did (and didn't do) in the series, but it'll wash. For one, he's too great a player. And, for two, this isn't the age of creating curses. Our collective memory ain't what it used to be.

Kevin Brown and Javier Vazquez
If anyone has any info on the Yankees farm system I'd like to hear it. Interesting question. They were talking about this on "Cold Pizza" this morning. Apparently, the Yankee farm system is harvested-out. The main reason they couldn't move Johnson to New York in July is because they have no prospects to offer anyone in return. Jim Bowden pointed to this as the main flaw the Yankees have and the most important thing they need to do to turn things around

Kevin Brown and Javier Vazquez
Is Vazquez going into FA this year? What are the terms of his contract? And I don't know about Lowell to the Yankees (though I'm beginning to face the inevitability of him leaving through trade before Nov. 1). At some point, doesn't Steinbrenner realize that the way to create a successful team is not by buying up every talented FA out there? But I guess that's a discussion for the MLB board.

MSN is here....
Alright. I'm going to just show my complete ignorance on these matters. Why (and how) does it show that Inktomi Spider is posting right now? Inktomi Spider Posting in forum: Florida Marlins Today, 09:18 AM I admit it. I'm an idiot. :dork

Is the Curse Dead?
The curse is the Series. This prelude is either (1) The way it has to be broken (coming back from 0-3 against the Yankees) OR (2) A maximization of the heartache when they eventually lose. Personally, I'm not sure which.
