1. Anybody got any predictions? My guess is the Braves where we land Ian Anderson/Joey Wentz/William Contreras
2. We aren't getting Pederson and Ruiz, I F'in wish but that has a 0.01% chance of happening. Something fair would be Ruiz/May/Gray like I saw mentioned on Twitter. All have high ceilings and could be core players for a playoff team in the future.
3. Lol at how the thread title was changed (Admin must've done it) Also look at what I predicted and was mentioned several hours later by an MLB.com writer.
4. I started this thread as to not detract from the Realmuto Rumors thread because this is entirely about trade ideas. I honestly don't see the problem, is this forum on fire to the point where this thread will take the shine away from another??? Lmfao ignore it if you want
5. Edit: I definitely feel despite how unbiased I'm trying to be these might be a bit too high, Shoot me ideas though of what you feel is right or realistic. I'll add position and Top-100 rankings later (going to work soon) onto the prospects I mention. All Rankings are based off MLB.com top100 and organizational rankings I hope we land a package consisting of 1 Top-25 prospect and 1 Top-100 prospect with a throw-in for both packages. I might be being too optimistic so thought I'd jot down some trades I feel are fair. Braves Aquire: - J.T. Realmuto © Marlins Aquire: - Kyle Wright (RHP) Top 100 Rank: 29 - Christian Pache (OF) Top 100 Rank: 68 Notes: I feel we couldn't land Riley and one of their top 5 pitchers but can squeeze out a Kyle Wright/Pache package. I'd like Touki more but feel with his emergence down the stretch they'd feel he's more untouchable than before. This would be a great haul for Miami and wouldn't kill the Braves as they wouldn't lose their top pitching prospect or positional prospect. This is probably my favorite package that's realistic. Astros Aquire: - J.T. Realmuto © Marlins Aquire: - Yordan Alvarez (OF) Top 100 Rank: 42 - Josh James (RHP) Top 100 Rank: 95 - Corbin Martin (RHP) Organization Rank: 6th Notes: I think this is just about the only way the Marlins consider a trade with the Astros that doesn't include either of their top 2. I feel this is also a real big reach for the Astros and that they probably wouldn't... unless... one of the bigger contenders adds a Machado or Harper or are close to a deal for J.T. i.e. Yankee's Tampa Bay Edit: I feel all trades I list are "Best Case Scenario", so in all likelihood, the Marlins will get a bit less than what I'm implying. Padres Aquire: - J.T. Realmuto © Marlins Aquire: - Francisco Mejia (C/OF) Top 100 Rank: 26 - Micheal Baez (RHP) Top 100 Rank: 57 or - Francisco Meija (C/OF) Top 100 Rank: 26 - Luis Patino (RHP) Top 100 Rank: 83 - Andres Munoz (CL) Organizational Rank: 23rd Notes: I feel the Padres outbid any other team if they want. I feel a package headlined by Francisco is a must if we trade with them though, even if we have to throw in another MLB player. I didn't include Paddack cause I feel he is surging too high right now to be anything other than a headliner prospect (unfortunately). The first offer is probably too much so that's why I devised a second that I'd still love and feel would be fair. Rays Aquire: - J.T. Realmuto © Marlins Aquire: - Jesus Sanchez (OF) Top 100 Rank: 33 or Brent Honeywell (RHP) Top 100 Rank: 28 - Shane Baz (RHP) Organizational Rank: 6th - Lucius Fox (SS) Organizational Rank: 9th Notes: An underrated farm system, in my opinion that can offer a bunch of talent that isn't "top-100" that is near it. Not much to say other than a talented group that if breaks right could add a Mid-rotation Pitcher as well as an underrated SS and Everyday Outfielder. Reds Aquire: - J.T. Realmuto © Marlins Aquire: - Taylor Trammell (OF) Top 100 Rank: 17 - Tucker Barnhart © Gold Glove winner or Mike Siani (OF) Organizational Rank: 9th Notes: The best potential player we could add through a J.T. trade out of all offers that are realistic. In hindsight wish we added Robles during the deadline but hey water under the bridge. Taylor though is the real deal and could develop into a star for sure. Barnhart also could be the placeholder catcher till Banfield develops or whoever we add there in the upcoming draft. I originally made this a post on the J.T. rumor thread but felt it wasn't a rumor and didn't want to hijack the original thread. If you don't care or feel this is an unnecessary thread breath, calm down, and just post on another thread.
6. Moved the original big post over to its own thread.
7. essentially the field is any other team
8. Pray we deal with the Padres, a package headlined by Mackenzie Gore and Francisco Mejia would be pure sex
9. This thread is reallying getting the great opinions out of you guys that I wanted lmao
10. Also said our asking price high end young pitching prospect and a position player
11. I’d be playing it so much, Madden is hot garbage and 2k is meh. I need a good sports game and an mlb one would be nice... but... an NCAA one would be perfect lol best sports gaming franchise of all of them
12. J.T. wanted out last year as well, even if he’s presented a market value contract he’s gone guys. Everybody pulling at straws saying “let’s hear what J.T. says” and acts like the agent isn’t EMPLOYEDby him need to realize he says what benefits J.T. in all cases. He doesn’t wanna be here and we wanted him to stay as an organization supposedly. This is different than other instances for obvious reasons and we should just focus more on trade talk than extension talk.
13. Ideally though, you’d want a mix of Mike Soroka or Kyle Wright/Austin Riley/another player in their top seven. It’s not hard to envision a bidding war in which we already heard rumors of Mike/Austin offered, where they throw in another one of their top seven. At first I felt this trade sounded too optimistic on our end but if Soroka and Riley already get the deal then a bidding war with say the Nationals and other top clubs could easily motivate them to trade one more imo
14. Yes that’s good, but we’d need more more. That’s their top guy and number 5... which would be our top prospect lmao
15. I understand your point but another thing to take into consideration that might not have been mentioned is his value to the W/L also. It’s minor but with him we’ll be better no doubt offensively than without him and potentially finish closer to the mid and top of the top 10 picks the next two years. If we were to trade him soon, we’d acquire not only two top100 prospects. Also most we’d likely finish with probably one of the top 3 worst records without him. I’d love to resign him but don’t see value in him going forward due to once we might begin competing he’ll likely be costing us a lot and be on the decline. I hate the stigma with the Marlins and the constant trade our best guys for pennies on the dollar but this is an instance in which it makes sense.
16. Got an idea, how bout maybe hosting one person from the board per episode or every other one as a “co-host”. If you’d want of course
17. If we had a top15 farm system I’d agree sure why not, but we aren’t close to contending in the next 3 years and don’t have the prospects needed to get to the next level. Paying him would only consume money and add a couple more wins. It makes more sense to sell high and save the money for when you are about to contend.
18. Hopping we land whoever the top SS prospect if it makes sense draft position wise
19. Posted this in the trade package Jt thread, wanted to make sure everybody saw it though. A trade like this would be great imo if you land one more top 15 player in their farm
20. I’d love a trade like this even though it’s in division
21. If you trade him to anybody in the NL East you better fleece them lol
22. Supposedly we signed VVM for $5.25 million and his little bro for $1 million flat. We should have around $400,000 left over from what most estimates put the Marlins at before hand.
23. Just updated my original post with two more potential targets
