Top 50 Marlins - All-Time WAR
...and Part 3. I know I said I'd be publishing on Friday, but I've just been too excited about the series to wait that long. Also, I needed something to help me procrastinate from college and from setting up all the Christmas lights. https://marlinmaniac.com/2019/12/09/marlins-top-50-players-part-3/

Marlins in market for strike-throwing relievers
I mean, we could do a lot worse than Romo, right?

Marvin Miller and Ted Simmons elected to Hall of Fame
Insane. Tommy John has a surgery named after him and pitched till he was like 50. Dale Murphy, Dwight Evans, and Donnie Baseball all deserve to be in after Harold Baines was picked last year. Crazy.

Top 50 Marlins - All-Time WAR
Hey I wrote this as part one of a five-part series profiling the "Top 50 Marlins," in terms of WAR (offensive, defensive, and pitching WAR, combined, even for pitchers). I welcome any feedback. If you don't wanna click on through, here's the crib-notes version: 50. Omar Infante 49. Livan Hernandez 48. Devon White 47. Ivan Rodriguez 46. Al Leiter 45. Derek Dietrich 44. Chris Hammond 43. Steve Cishek 42. Robb Nen 41. Edgar Renteria ...and the full version: https://marlinmaniac.com/2019/12/06/marlins-top-50-players/ I'll be posting another part over on Marlin Maniac every Friday, if anyone is so inclined to check it out.

"We need to get better" - Mike Hill
Keller and Kinley? What about Conley? He's by far the worst performing pitcher on the current roster.

Jonathan Villar acquired
A pair of moves that made me happy. A rarity. Hoping JT Riddle gets a fair shake somewhere. Hopefully we see Tayron Guerrero later on. I know he was hit or miss (literally sometimes), but I'm still in love with his velo.

That was painful, Granderson. Waaaaay outside.

Chip Carey just called Pablo Lopez an "impressive prospect." Pretty sure he lost his rookie status last season. The only "prospect" in the rotation is Alcantara.

Not so much when you live in Atlanta's MLB.TV blackout area. I'm forced to watch the only broadcast available.

Alfaro just took two pitches in that very predictable strikeout. Buy a lottery ticket.

So Trevor Richards could get a win with the way he's pitching, but what are the odds that Marquez goes the distance, allows just one hit all game long, and loses?

The pitching seems as good as advertised, but hitting so far, geez.

You're kidding? Why didn't they say something?

Yeah, and unfortunately, good pitching can't score us runs.
