Waltz will replace Len Kasper, who became the Chicago Cubs' television voice. Waltz has extensive experience announcing baseball and other sports. Since 1995, he has served as the pregame and postgame TV host on Seattle Mariners games, as well as fill-in play-by-play. He called Major League Baseball for ESPN and ESPN2 from 2000 to 2003, on ESPN Radio in 2000 and 2001 and on FX in 2000. He has extensive experience calling Pacific-10 and Mountain West sports, and also has announced NHL, NFL Europe and Seattle Seahawks preseason games on television. Waltz was a starting infielder on University of California at Davis' baseball team in 1984 and 1985. Waltz, 42, was the other finalist when Kasper was hired to replace ESPN's Dave O'Brien three years ago. Last month, FSNF -- which selects the TV announcers -- offered the play-by-play job to former Marlins radio announcer Jon Sciambi, but he opted instead to call baseball games for ESPN and do a 1-4 p.m. talk show on 790 The Ticket, beginning Monday. Waltz and analyst Tommy Hutton will work 145 Marlins games (including three exhibition games), beginning March 20 vs. Houston. He left because of an injury. He strained his left Achilles' tendon, but will still start next Friday.

Offensively the team was great, but the defense cost the Marlins the game. Leave the lineup as is. Cabrera hasn't played LF in a while, and when was the last time Conine placed 1st? Once or twice this season? Knowing the Marlins though, defense will be great, pitching will be even better but their will be no runs.

I wish I had details, but I've seen the commercial twice, but each time I saw it I end up seeing the very end.

Pavano is supposed to have a signing at a car dealership(Toyota?). I can't remeber when and where, but the commercials have been playing for a little while.
