August 8, 200421 yr I said this earlier...that the key to this trade working was if Valdez turned out and played well....he's done that tonite...granted it's definitely just one night...but if he can keep this up, it will be key. The biggest blow to our team from the trade was our starting pitching w/the loss of Penny...if Valdez can continue to pitch well, it will soften that blow. Keep it up, big guy!

Valdez hasn't gone really deep in games like this because of his stamina. Why risk it? Stick the bullpen in there for the 7-8-9th innings and be done with it.
