Cabrera hasn't played LF in a while, and when was the last time Conine placed 1st? Once or twice this season? Knowing the Marlins though, defense will be great, pitching will be even better but their will be no runs.

August 5, 200422 yr It isn't about Cabs being a poor defender in LF. He isn't great, but he's not bad. It's about him being a complete and total jerkoff, and not running plays out. If I was Jack, I would have benched Miguel months ago for a few days straight for giving up on plays. You're job is to play baseball. You get paid a ridiculous sum of money. The LEAST you could do, is run out every grounder, chase every fly ball, give 110% and leave everything on the field. That is what you are paid to do, yet you do not do it! He might be 21, but he's quietly growing the same problem Princess Beckett has.

August 5, 200422 yr Conine played 1st most of the time while in baltimore ... we made him go back to the outfield he's fine at first 496684[/snapback] Conine's decent at first, but he's much better in left. He rarely misplays a fly ball. It's line drives to the gap that gives him problems sometimes. Cabrera rarely ever gets to a line drive anywhere and ends up turning them into doubles. I still think Cabrera's future is in right field, but he's a work in progress and the way this season is going might as well give him another 50 games to work it out. Unfortunetly one of them needs to move so we can showcase Encarnacion and clear salary this offseason. Moving Conine is the best option.
