  1. I don’t know how everything works but when a manager refuses to stay another year, accept a lower position while making less with the Rangers. I’d say something went wrong. (Bendix) Maybe loyalty netted 🍔 in some aspect because the trade seems like a pay off. I want to defend Bendix but there’s to much red tape thus far. I wonder who else needs fired or traded so he can earn another medal badge on his uniform by being a dictator. I would have been fine if they didn’t spend this year, trade some pitching for bats or trade some of those prospects that they got for Rogers, Jazz, Puk, & Scott. Instead we’re wasting another year or two on prospects that rarely work out.
  2. More value will be had at the mid way mark. Not sure why they rushed on the Burger trade. Skip definitely comes to mind.
  3. Never thought I admit it, but you been right on the direction Dix had gone so far.
  4. Kinda hard to trust when they’re trading high caliber players before max value while reducing it more with quantity over quality. Not one prospect taken inside another teams top 5 with Arraez & Burger and now Luzardo will be dealt for Cassie to replace Burger as it’s reported that Cassie is controllable. Ng at least traded prospects for players who could help in the present. She was more conscious driven by adding stability to the current roster. Maybe that’s why she was canned. Never thought I would defend Ng thanks Bendix.
  5. I just think lefty vs lefty matchups is annoying.
  6. Cassie strikes out a bunch & his power isn’t elite for that many strike outs. Scouts say he has high exit velo but that’s universal if u r swinging for the fences anyway. J.Sanchez is basically the same hitter, no thanks. Triantos is really nice, a great fit behind X. High contact with sneaky speed. Bendix going after RH hitters is a plus for me.
  7. My vote is for Ben Richards!!
  8. My vote was actually on the behalf of TheMarlinsProject.
  9. I thought they could have been a powerhouse in 2026. Sandy & Eury would be fully built up for innings while the young core got their hard knocks in 2025. We had a great opportunity with youth + experience + a key free agent addition but they went the Rays model, sustained success without actually winning. No wonder Skip wanted out. But to answer your question anything is possible but highly unlikely. We seen it before all the fire sales and rebuilds which is a dice game that rarely works without key free agents. The answer really is based on when they are willing to spend.
  10. Maybe but I think the narrative is different. Not a coincidence that Burger was traded practically the same day like your saying, but I’m convinced that they didn’t want the first pick so they can continue their rebuilding process. The lottery is rigged they all know what’s going on. Marlins wasn’t ever going to spend. Create a narrative to push agenda. MLB Draft importance isn’t the same as the NFL or NBA. You don’t tank because you missed out on the top 3 picks.
  11. Bendix also has a goofy habit of taking max value (lol) and rounding it on multiple players. It wouldn’t surprise me if he enjoyed the 7th pick in the lottery instead of the 1st because straight value that’s identifiable is to boring.
  12. The spenders will know who to call in 3-4 yrs. Thanks for the update.
  13. I hear that Kim still doesn’t answer phones because you won’t stop calling her.
  14. J Sanchez is a 0.7 WAR 0 .2 points higher than Burger’s 0.5 last year. Using the WAR stat is misleading on why they should have traded Burger.
  15. Solid for a trade you need to get out of but bad for the points you just mentioned. TheMarlinsProject dude will keep our hopes alive tho.
  16. Maybe MLB is our GM. We trade Arraez while not damaging the Padres farm system at all. Then we trade Burger for basically the same no harm to the Rangers farm of course. It’s just a matter of time before they give Luzardo to the Yankees in a 5 player package none being in the top 10. Trading Burger is the equivalence of going to college only to work at Burger King after graduation.
  17. Marlins lost their first or second draft spot while trading their best hitter in less than 24 hours for future parts/players. Smells fishy if you ask me. @pollythewog Looks like I’ll be wrong on a .500 or better record next season now that there’s no meat (Burger) in the line up.
  18. Honestly the lottery could favor tanking. If a bad team can stay in the top 1-7 and still get the #1 or #2 pick it might actually cause more teams to tank. MLB is backwards, they should enforce all teams to reach a competitive payroll amount and set the bar on how much a FA should make through an arbitration settlement if they don’t want teams tanking. Instead it’s the wild west with big market owners spending like they get free money from donations and widening the payroll gap farther from top to bottom. Average players are now going to seek higher payouts.
  19. They lost all their starting pitching without one all star hitter.
  20. Yes I’d say before the decade. MLB needs to address this fast. Even if they added a salary cap the flux increase each year would only favors big markets anyway. To tackle this, contracts shouldn’t be longer than 5 yrs plus they can do an arbitration case that determines the players value in FA. Its not fair that big market teams are determining the FA market because of desperation. Putting Soto’s contract in perspective based on intangible importance he makes just as much a Patrick Mahomes a 2x super bowl champ who boasts the largest contract in the NFL 10/450. The Mets made a mistake.
  21. Would anyone here object to signing Soto for that amount? Just wondering.
