Sorry I didn’t see that you only quoted a fraction of what was said which I do agree with you on.

Jazz Could Make History
Of course but I think there’s rules of engagement for a player to make such a claim publicly. Backing it up on the field is mandatory, that’s the whole point of making a guarantee. Going 3-29 in the playoffs while his teammates carry out his promises only certifies why his peers voted him most overrated player. Also, being the newest addition while Soto, Judge & Staton paved the way for Jazz, permission with those guys should be warranted I would think. I see Jazz as someone who has to put his label or his brand on something so he can be relevant. That’s the part that I’m against.

Joe Namath, Mark Messier and Plaxico Burress. These players actually contributed.

Jazz Could Make History
https://www.mlb.com/yankees/news/jazz-chisholm-guarantees-yankees-victory-in-2024-world-series The Yankees still need six more wins to secure their first World Series title since 2009 (and the 28th in franchise history). But in Jazz Chisholm Jr.’s view, the Bronx Bombers already have it in the bag. “We’re World Series champions. No other doubt in my mind,” Chisholm told ESPN’s Jeff Passan prior to Game 3 of the American League Championship Series in Cleveland on Thursday. This isn’t the first time the third baseman has expressed his confidence in New York’s chances this October. After the team dropped Game 2 of the AL Division Series to the Royals at Yankee Stadium, Chisholm remarked that Kansas City “just got lucky.” He doubled down on that stance on social media. Chisholm was met with consistent boos from the Royals faithful after the series shifted to Kansas City, a response the 26-year-old embraced wholeheartedly. His confidence was rewarded when the Yankees went on to win the series in 4 games. Chisholm, who has gone 3-for-23 (.130) with a homer and a double in his first postseason with the Yankees after being acquired from the Marlins at the Trade Deadline, could face a similar reaction from Guardians fans at Progressive Field after his latest proclamation. Time will tell if Chisholm goes down in the annals of New York sports history with other athletes whose championship guarantees famously paid off -- alongside the likes of Joe Namath, Mark Messier and Plaxico Burress -- or if he'll go down the path of, say, Patrick Ewing.

The catcher who caught the bat was Mike Piazza and he wasn’t a Marlin yet. That should help.- Marlins Trivial Pursuit #7
Bonus points for sure on Mordecia. Maybe I could make a point system I guess. I’d have to go back and tally the points if so.- Marlins Trivial Pursuit #7
Yes, John Boy Baker was a starter kinda. Questions 4 & 5 was sketchy & knew they would get some clarity.- Marlins Trivial Pursuit #7
Good luck players!! 1) The nickname “Hammer” was given to what Marlin? 2) Looking for the most awkward batting stance in franchise history? 3) What Marlin lost his bat on his backswing and was caught by the opposing catcher? 4) Need the last names of these BACKUP catchers. SCOTT, JOHN, GREGG, MIKE. 5) Name the starting pitcher not traded following the 1997 season?- 2024-2025 Offseason Thread
The writer must have found some inspiration from the movie No Holds Barred starring Hulk Hogan.- Marlins fire nearly everyone including Mel
I wonder who decided to have Burger leading off the last game of the year. I mean it’s not a big deal (last game) but if that’s the creative ideas Bendix is referring then he will probably be involved. Coincidently Skip didn’t even coach the final game either.- Marlins fire nearly everyone including Mel
Why do they need a analytics manager when the GM and partial owner already see to it? Wouldn’t the position of a manager be more suited as a mentor who gels with the players and has many games under his belt like a Joe Maddon? I think that’s much more valuable than a manager who has “creative ideas”.- Marlins fire nearly everyone including Mel
You love abusive relationships like you said. You couldn’t even determine if Matt Nagy was a bad coach in his final year big guy.- Marlins fire nearly everyone including Mel
I’d agree with that percentage if Jazz was still on the team. Trading him alone bumps up his success rate at least 50%.- Marlins fire nearly everyone including Mel
So you’d be more offended if he came off as a douchebag rather than the fact that he fixed or cured the problem?- Predict the next manager

They will sign Jazz next year and break their own record again.- Polly's September Game Thread

6 errors in the last two games too. Also Soriano & Nardi blew up the bullpen this year Nardi (5.07) & Soriano (6.75) but last year they both did well, Nardi (2.76) & Soriano (3.61). This kinda bolsters the idea that the bullpen has been decent & the blame should fall more on the other regime.- The Jazz Tracker
It was actually Jazz’s replacement Jonathan Davis who for a month put the Marlins on his back with the help of Solar & DLC that year. If I remember we were 10-15 gms under .500 when he went on the IL. Then when he returned we were 12 gms over .500 Closing the thread is probably the right move because the burden of truth has already been proven. His numbers are worse this year than lasts, he’s not playing any better in a different environment and he’s failing while in a contract year. If was his agent I would bail.- The Jazz Tracker

SUMMARY: Perfect score this week, nice work @Michael & @Piazza31. Piazza you had some incredible plays with 3 & 5. BOX SCORE: 6-6 ANSWERS: 1. Preston Wilson 2. Jose Fernandez 3. Barry Bonds 4. Chris Coghlan 5. Dennis Cook. I remember watching this thinking, what are you doing man, Thome is going to win in every match. Cook ended up striking him out (I think). 6. Livan Hernandez and Moises Alou. I was wrong on this, I thought it was Gary Sheffield and Moises Alou. Sheffield had a great series even robbing a HR.- The Jazz Tracker
Jazz went 0-8 in the 23’ wild card series vs the Phillies.- 2024 Roster Moves Thread
Puk 23’ (3.97) 24’ (4.30) ERA. Puk stunk in the pen beginning of the year, stunk in the rotation (not counting) but was lights out a month before the trade. All things considered probably a push. Scott 23’ (2.31) 24’ (1.18) ERA with 33 less IP this year. That’s something but it’s not a much maybe one spot difference. One thing I would be wrong on is if the bullpen before the trades had an ERA of 3-3.50 and has badly rising after the trades 5-6.00 currently putting it around 4.21. If so then you have a point.- 2024 Roster Moves Thread
You’re right Buuuuuuuuut I doubt the 2023 bullpen was built for the playoffs. Figures, bullpen just gave up 4 runs after my post. - Marlins Trivial Pursuit #7
