Hey everyone not sure if you guys remember me I am an Astros fan living in Miami that lurks here and occasionally posts here. Anyways all of this talk about the Marlins looking to possibly trade Willis and Cabrera got me thinking of how nice it would be to see them in Astro uniforms. I came up with a hypothetical trade situation and wanted to see what you guys thought about it. Miguel Cabrera and Dontrelle Willis for Michael Bourn, Ty Wigginton, Troy Patton, Hector Gimenez and Matt Albers This trade gives you guys a starting CF, replacement 3B and a stud young pitcher in Patton along with a serviceable pitcher in Albers. Gimenez could be the wild card here. He is coming back from rotator cuff surgery but he was scheduled to be the starting catcher for the Astros until the recent emergence of Towles but if healthy could be a really good catcher for you guys for years to come and in my book is a much better option than Yorvit. Also with the exception of Ty Wigginton all of these players would be under club control for a few years to come. Let me know what you guys think. Also feel free to call me an idiot, moron or whatever but only if you do it in a way that is funny, witty or entertaining.

If I may chime in with a couple of words. I don't think Willis is worth much right now. I think the best bet for the Marlins would be to either try to package him in whatever trade they work out for Cabrera or have him start out the season and hope he can raise his value.

A Braves fan friend of mine IM'd me this article, was pissed at me since the Marlins no longer pay most of Hampton's contract starting next year http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/n...t=.jsp&c_id=atl 945859[/snapback] Ouch Braves owe him quite a bit over the next 3 seasons. 13.5M in 2006 (2M paid by COL), 14.5M in 2007 (2M paid by COL), 15M in 2008 (2.5M paid by COL), and in 2009 a Team Option worth 20M or 6M buyout (buyout would be paid by COL in 1.5M annual installments from 2009 to 2012)

This is for the full baseball contract though, Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and other select nights. As a Marlins fan I don't like how ESPN can broadcast a team more often than before. Some of those extra games are going to mean fewer Marlins (and Pirates, Brewers, Athletics) games 946477[/snapback] And more Yankee and Red Sox games. Like Fox doesn't show enough of those as it is.

Yeah AJ sucks. We would be so much better off with Moe and Ish on our staff, we should have traded him when we had the chance....... Get real. AJ wasn't on tonight, but he worked hard to give us 6 solid innings. One of the reasons we didn't trade AJ is we thought he would deliver more wins than anybody else we could have picked up. AJ is now 4-5 since the trade deadline. I am voting for CC cause hes my favorite of the players on the AL ballot. That being said I think Oswalt should be one from the NL ballot going to the all star game. I mean what else does Oswalt need to do in order to get the nod for the All Star game. He is 3rd in ERA among NL starters, 4th in WHIP and 4th in Wins and also has three CGs to boot. Plus he also is doing this in what is considered a hitters park for a crappy offensive team.

I had heard the Reds announcers say that Griffey was testing them out earlier in the season.

That game was tough to watch especially when Bidge went down. Word is that X-rays were negative but hes likely to miss a few games. Which Sucks cause hes the only astro hitting the ball with any consistency.

Is he Jewish? I own the entire set of Jewish major leaguers put out by the American Jewish Historical Society and Lance isn't in them, but after a Google search some websites say he is Jewish and other sites say he isn't and he also isn't on the all-time roster of Jewish ball players (http://www.jewishmajorleaguers.org/rstr/alltimeRoster2004.pdf). Hey I heard about co-ed softball league down at Indian Hammocks in Kendall that is short one team, they already have 5 teams and need one more. I am trying to see if I can get enough people together to create the 6th team. The team would consist of 6 guys and 4 girls. I don't know how much it'll cost yet but if we have enough interest I'll see about getting all that info.
