Patton and Towles or Pence for Willis....would anyone find that deal appealing? Maybe Pence for Willis straight up? Maybe Pence, Towles and Patton for Willis and Gregg (the Stros may be looking for another option at closer other than Qualls, but that price may be too high for the Astros to pay). I would like to see Hunter Pence playing CF here. Houston just acquired Michael Bourn, who is another Willy Taveras, so maybe they would be willing to part with Pence to improve their woeful staff from last year. If this deal went down, it could drastically change any deal with Cabrera since we wouldn't need a CF anymore. Personally I would go Willis for Pence straight up. Anyone wanna weigh in on a deal with Houston?

Hell, people post threads about Torrealba possibly coming over, and any other piece of news or rumors regarding the Marlins, so I decided to post one myself. Have to wait for Cabrera to get traded first as he is obviously the bigger ticket, which will get larger talent. Once we see what holes that fills/creates, then it'll be time to figure out what to do with Dontrelle, whether trading him now or praying to god he is "fixed" by July to trade him at the deadline.

 

But houston? They have junk. Willis to Colorado, Arizona, Cleveland or Seattle makes more sense. They all need pitching and have lots and lots of fun stuff in their advanced minors or just breaking into the bigs that make sense here.

I would like a Willis to Seattle trade. Of course, any deal with seattle would have to include Jeff Clement. I don't see them giving up Wladimier Balentien, or Brandon Morrow. Maybe Eric O'Flaherty and Jeff Clement.

willis is staying if we dump cabs. willis is the reason why we brought wiley back. we can afford to keep willis for next year, and at this point his trade value is very low. i highly doubt he leaves. however, id take pence in half a heartbeat. he would be awesome in cf for us.

Im not so sure that is correct.

 

Multiple radio interviews today seem to believe Train couldnt bring in a top prospect at this point and becuase of his contract status it would be seen as more of a salary dumb, so those teams inquiring likely wouldnt take that salary and give up the best theyve got.

I think the Marlins could easily get Jeff Clement, or Ian Stewart, and a secondary P prospect or Spilborghs, etc

A 26 year old pitcher with a 68-54 record, who is a lefthander, making a reasonable salary, who is a good person (except for peeing...), where any team believes they could "fix" him is worth MUCH more than 2 mid level prospects
