Granderson is not that great of a prospect first of all. If we trade Burnett for Granderson and Maroth then Beinfest really is stupud and the deal will be even worse than what O's offered us. The Red Sox want to trade us Wade Miller and Anibel Sanchez. We want Bronson Arroyo and Hanley Ramirez. (The deal on the table seems to be Arroyo/Sanchez. Would both sides accept Wade Miller/Hanley Ramirez? I doubt the Sox would.) I see a match here. McCarthy/Marte or Arroyo/Sanchez. I don't think the Redsox are going to bite on Burnett unless Lowell is taken off the table.Lowells numbers this year are similiar to what Kevin Millars are.Not to mention at the 18 million owed to Lowell.In fact i think the Marlins are grasping at straws here trying to include a under performing 3rd basemen with a 3-4 starter at this point.I do believe that Burnett can be great if given time with Varitek and become a legitimate cy young contender. As for the Redsox side Arroyo isn't a great pitcher similiar to Burnett in many ways without the k's and with a habit of hanging his breaking pitches. What an oddity. I agree with virtually everything Passion said with the possible exception of his comments regarding Mike Lowell, who might fair well in Fenway. A new hitting coach and a new approach may hasten the comeback he's on, and once he figures out the Green Monster he'll be tatooing it with regularity.
