  1. Because none of them are going to be good? Seriously over valuing the Marlins prospects if anyone thinks Jensen or Canha is going to be a league average first baseman, especially immediately. It's a dream scenario for the Marlins to turn Cishek (they can replace 65 IP easily and not pay $7 million for that) and take your pick of Eovaldi/Koehler (I suspect the organization wants to keep Alvarez, Heaney, and Cosart, and the Marlins don't need 6-7 SP with upside considering the absolute mess of depth of infielders in this organization) into two young infielders who are just about MLB ready, and they can match with Realmuto and Romero longterm. And I don't know who said it, but moving Yelich to 1B is idiotic. Leave the outfield alone. Why is Yelich to 1B idiotic when we have no long term 1B and he recently started playing the OF. Only reason he was in the OF was because he was blocked by Sanchez and Morrison at first.
  2. That doesnt mean you can strike out that bad against that same tigers team again. We got nothing out of a deal where we traded a top of the rotation arm and a quality second baseman, no matter if they were free agents. You got what you could for what you no longer were keeping- it sucks we lost the trade but don't let blind hatred for the ownership and front office prevent you from seeing we didn't just give hem away
  3. VMart, Headley, H2R(FFS I hope Loria doesn't), Willingham (1b or LF depending on yelich's skills), Dempster Shields (if serious about big splash) Scherzer (same as above) Peavy Haren (if option declined and market sucks for 2 year deal) Floyd Beckett
  4. Who are some FAs in the offseason that we potentially could sign within our budget? Domingo Beisbol and the Batting Stance Guy. That is if the BSG hasn't played his way into a massive contract after being with the show in NYC. http://www.baseballprospectus.com/compensation/cots/league-info/potential-free-agents-for-2015/
  5. In case anyone is wondering, they can bring the entire team for roughly $60 million. That would be this C - Saltalamacchia 1B - G. Jones 2B - Dietrich/Kike SS - Hechavarria 3B - McGehee LF - Yelich CF - Ozuna RF - Stanton B - Mathis B - Baker B - Dietrich/Kike B - B - SP - Alvarez SP - Eovaldi SP - Cosart SP - Koehler SP - Heaney RP - Cishek RP - Ramos RP - Morris RP - Dunn RP - Capps RP - Hatcher/Dyson RP - Hand/Flynn/Veteran Longman Best case scenario if $75 is realistic is probably trading Cishek and Eovaldi (clears $10 million) for a young 1B and a young 2B/SS/3B type to fill out the position players and provide real competition across the board there (plus real hope for the future), signing a front line SP (Lester, Shields, Scherzer are top 3) for an absolute ton of money, perhaps sign a better veteran RP to upgrade someone above, and then stash a few extra bucks in case needed at deadline if contending and Fernandez looks healthy. Would be nice to dump Jones/Baker money ($7) and get someone better there, but realistically not going to happen. Depending on who they can get for Cishek/Eovaldi, could be real interesting. Could also see them move Heaney and keep Eovaldi if they got someone with a lot of years (i.e. a package for Starlin Castro). I honestly think Eovaldi and Cishek as salary dumps is the last thing you do. Maybe Kohler/Hand for a team desperate for SP. Eovaldi is too promising right now to give up on- he just needs more consistency with his pitches. You sign a OF, move back Yelich to 1B to solve the issue there if it's that BIG of an issue and you sign a veteran with low risk high reward if Yelich struggles. I'm not even sure of Yelich's skills at the bag to be honest and it might be best to leave him alone. If you can flip jones and baker AFTER you have signed a replacement for 1B or OF you do it. Cant straight dump. The PR hit before you sign someone else will be too harsh considering they just signed. You trade with the NYY or Boston if you can, I think Jones can benefit from both of their right fields pretty well- and baker seems like the utility type the Red Sox covet.
  6. No? Dude will be a plus WAR player, guaranteed. Like I said, not quite a prodigy but not far off. I doubt he makes it past AAA and sticks- I see him like Dallas McPherson, Zach Cox. A good player with potential that never reaches it.
  7. Brantly is bad. Flynn is bad. Turner is bad. Infante used to not be bad (I dunno what's going on this year) and Anibal is coming off a Cy Young caliber season. Simple to say we got hosed in that deal. As for the game it sucks, especially since Hand did a great job going 7 innings and managing to keep the team in the game after that bad start. But it's a four game series, so if we can win the next two we're in good position as we look to close out the homestand. No worries. This team is in a hell of a lot better shape than it deserves to be going into mid August, especially with how the season has gone about. Got Cosart healthy, Eovaldi despite his last start seems to be figuring things out, Alvarez is healthy again, Hand has given us good starts minus that one game, Koehler continues to be Koehler. Whatever the stats say the starting pitching has kept us in games this year (and the bullpen has pretty shockingly become a strength). It's time for the offense to step their game up going into the home stretch or this team will without a doubt be watching playoff games at home for the eleventh straight year. Oh my, how people quickly forget that Anibal and Infante were free agents at the end of a dismal season. And just before an offseason we blew up the team.
  8. We had close to a prodigy in Moran. Still hate that trade. I don't think you are retarded, so is this a joke?
  9. Harpers young, was probably rushed to the majors and is doing it on a competitive team. He'll pull around. Even if it means a "rehab" stint to do it. He's already proven to be an average MLB player when he had expectations that would normally break any 17 year old. FFS- he was on the Sports Illustrated cover at 16!
  10. http://lockerdome.com/6617840463785793/6883188744271636 In completely related news, Giancarlo Stanton expected to sign record extention, $40MM for 2015.
  11. Tainted love. Go to sleep Austin Powers..... Yeah baby, yeah!
  12. Every major city has constant road work. I would take foreign drivers in old cars over Missouri drivers every day. That's the thing- somehow these foreigners end up driving 2014 BMW's and Benz'. Btw, one of the highways here has been under construction since 2003. Seriously.
  13. Eh, all the roads in St. Louis angle away from eachother(it's hard to explain...for example, just getting to the ballpark off of I70...which the home plate entrance literally butts up against....is about a mile and 7 turns from the ballpark exit) and Missouri has to have the worst drivers in the country. But are your roads always under construction and randomly shut down? Coupled with drivers who have never been to America let alone drove a car newer than 1978?
  14. Your lucky you don't have to drive our streets then. You're***
  15. We disagree on what would have been fair for both sides 2-3 years ago, but it's encouraging that for the first time in 3 years we sort of agree on a fair contract now. 5/140, 6/160....something in that range I think would get 'er done right now if the Marlins make the offer. 10 year deals don't make sense for either side right now. A major injury a year was worth waiting for- the only real issue was if a truly team friendly deal would have been possible.
  16. Tainted sport. Tainted umpires. Tainted calls. You forgot Tainted Twats and Tainted Taints in NYC.
  17. I actually live an hour east of St. Louis. Your lucky you don't have to drive our streets then.
  18. Aurora Snow is where the moneyshots at!
  19. Spike lives in St. Louis. Presidente and Winn Dixie will be coming to Ferguson soon enough.
  20. We don't have those here Presidente are all over Miami. So where is here?
  21. Was that Mexican Loria in Blue and orange polo?
  22. He got fooled, but I'll take it.
