  1. As long as we don't use him as a LOOGY fine. He's decent innings eating material
  2. Miami Mormon Marlins?
  3. Would definitely take one of Sydregaard or deGrom and probably one of Nimmo or Smith. If not, it's a no go.
  4. Dietrich doesn't play CF. Guess we could move yelich back over and yes Dietrich has done lots more to warrant a starting spot and probably will get one if we trade Ozuna. But Perez covers a lot more ground than Dietrich. He should definitely be on the bench as more than a PR. He has tempered strikeout totals which is all he needs to do to be successful. As I said he doesn't even need to get the ball out of the IF to reach. He's that fast. A sure fire 40+ SB threat The fact he plays so many positions most of them well will almost definitely see him as part of the bench. By making the jump to AA successfully last year he deserves at least that.
  5. He'll never hit for power. Look at the OBP figures though. He posted a .334 in 84 games at the highest level he's played at last season and he's kicking ass to start his AFL season. Again, all he needs to do is get on base to make a difference. I'm not saying he deserves to start right now but depeneding on what we do this offseason, he could. He plays six spots. And most of them very well.
  6. Ok, so all this kid needs to do is put the ball in play and make a defender make a somewhat difficult play to get on base. From there, he will work his magic. The biggest knock on his game was Ks which he put in check to the tune of a 66/39 K/BB last year (most times he's ever walked) and 11/7 in the AFL while hitting .340 this winter. He'll very likely be a part of the bench next year. He plays six positions. Question is... if Hech and Ozuna are both gone, with a good spring, could he challenge for a starting job? He plays a very good CF and a very decent 2B and SS. Looking at OBP numbers, I say there is at least a slight chance he is in the Opening Day lineup next year. But that's just me.
  7. So because the boat was registered to him and he got on it drunk it makes him liable for the deaths? Don't really see how that would hold up in front of a judge. Then again US law is usually pretty screwed up on these things
  8. How would they be able to tell Jose was driving? I mean it was his boat of course so obviously he knew how to pilot it. But what's to say the others didn't?
  9. They still left it hanging outside their home. No excuse for this kind of douchebaggery.
  10. As if we already didn't know, they were most likely drinking. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/local/community/miami-dade/article110563512.html
  11. Add me while you're at it. That can be your form of Shiva platter for me.
  12. My guess was you were gonna go Sirius Black.
  13. I know you're incapable of being serious. So it's cool.
  14. I wanted more than 3 options.
  15. Listen man I'm not mad or anything but I work hard at building my own audience. Used to write for a company like bleacher report before they got bought. Went on to do my own thing rather than join up with the new version. Again I worked hard at getting this going all on my lonesome. It's finally happening. Whether you agree with my opinions or not, no need to tear me down. Not mad. I respect you and agree with a lot of your posts. Just saying it's not necessary.
  16. Ok, Admin. I'll post them here.
  17. I've been doing it off and on, both paid and unpaid for 8 years. Been in SI and HBT. So stahp
  18. Over the course of the offseason, I'm doing a series of articles to put together the best Marlins' roster based on jersey numbers and votes to polls on Twitter. Here's the first.
  19. You make fair points. I'll go through ths peice by peice. Highly disagree that Castillo isn't a top 100 prospect. His changsup needs work but his FB is already rated 80 by multiple sources and he barely touched AA. Of course his numbers will normalize a bit away from Jupiter but if he grows into his arm speed as I said and learns to command his stuff by not overthrowing in bases occupied situations, he will easily be a top 3 starter in this league and especially in Miami. Giving up power in the OF for a gifted shortstop is a necessary risk and adames is as close to a sure thing as they come. He's succeeded tons against older talent at every level of the minors. While I like Ozuna as a player, he works best defensively in RF which he can't possibly play here on a regular basis. He's also far from a sure thing when it comes to hitting 30 or even 20 HRs. Yeah the power is there but he's nearing 27 and has yet to do it. Not saying he never will. Just saying I question ye fact he's a perennial 30 HR threat. As for Hu you got it right. He's very close to the majors because of a stellar MILB career. He's shut scouts up about his lack of athletic build by throwing awesome secondary stuff. His delivery is as deceptive as they come and his arm speed is fantastic. I really want him. As for Hech having negative value I laid out a few weeks ago how his batted ball stats paint him as a mystery as to why he hit what he did this year. Blanco who yes, is older, didn't have that problem though he won't hit what he did in Philly here but he is a perfectly fine single season (if that) stopgap to Adames. I think a team like the Rays who are rebuilding, if they look at Hech's detailed stats, will be willing to take the slight risk on him. As bad as he was Hech doesn't have to mash the ball and likely never will in order to be a plus value player. Reasons for that are obvious. I disagree with you that Nova will get big money. After just slight success as you laid out and lots of injury history I think he will come at a decent price. Though other teams will probably be interested, I doubt they'll want to commit to him long term until he at least proves this version of him that he showed in Pittsburgh is for real. While I wouldn't get into a bidding war either, we should at least be a player considering what the in house alternatives are (though I do still like Brice and think he could become a back end starter). Again, a guy like Fister will be a stop gap to Hu (if we get him) and Castillo. If we get Nova and he is still decent, we could move a guy like Koehler at the break.
  20. It should be Conley, Chen, Koehler,Nova, Fister with Lincecum/Nic/Brice the spot starter but you still could be right. I forsee Hu getting here as early as the second half as well as luis castillo. With them in the roty, it gets tons better.
  21. No Wei! Ha. Completely forgot about him. Will fix. Thanks
