November 18, 20169 yr Well no, but apparently his investment firm discussed it. Article says a deal isn't moving forward, but could this be the first signs of Loria finally selling?? http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2016/11/17/mitt-romney-solamere-capital-mulled-purchase-marlins/xhXIsSlbmCnB4cJRrLrtKL/story.html
November 18, 20169 yr Could be similar to Jeb's attempt. Where he wanted to but Loria wasn't interested in selling.
November 18, 20169 yr Author Well maybe I'm reading too much into this, but this was interesting: It does not appear that the firm was seeking to invest in a baseball team, but the opportunity arose through one of its investors. That makes it sound like more than someone wanting to buy the team and being told it's not for sale. Hopefully this is the start of the sale process.
November 18, 20169 yr Hopefully this is the start of the sale process Next off-season is what most of us anticipate. So I guess it can be the start and a very slow progression.
November 18, 20169 yr Selling it during the ASG would be odd man If they sell before the end of the fifth inning, is the all star game not official?

November 18, 20169 yr C'mom guys Loria will only sell the team to Jeter , Loria drops his pants and bends over to ex-yankees
November 18, 20169 yr C'mom guys Loria will only sell the team to Jeter , Loria drops his pants and bends over to ex-yankees A-Rod is a legit possibility. Not only is he from Miami but he has shown an interest in team ownership and he also has the $$$ to do it without much outside help. Possibly one of his group members could be Jeter too.

November 18, 20169 yr i fully expect the team to be up on next year's big board during the annual charity auction. I guess Laurence Levy will be the next owner.
November 18, 20169 yr I know you're joking but marlins man would likely be worse than Loria as an owner. Aren't you two friends?
November 19, 20169 yr Would love for Loria to sell, but that's only have the battle. The new ownership could be another Loria.
