Edgar Gonzalez starting to heat up his winter
Kool-Aid is playing for Carolina in the Puerto Rican Winter League. They have probably playe their 4th or 5th game tonite. I follow the League religiosly but I am yet able to get Stats or any Boxscores, I can tell you this much, he is batting 3rd on a very good hitting team. He has had a few RBIs already. I will update further as soon as i find anything Thanks for the info. I just hope Reggie produces enough to make the 25 in '07 even if he's a 4th outfielder. Also the Carolina site is offline.

Mets, Citigroup Strike 20-Year Stadium Deal
Mets, Citigroup Strike 20-Year Stadium Deal New Ball Park to be Ready for 2009 Season By RONALD BLUM NEW YORK (Nov. 11) - Goodbye, Shea Stadium; hello, CitiField. The Mets and Citigroup Inc. have agreed on a 20-year sponsorship deal for the team's new ballpark that is worth more than an average of $20 million annually and includes stadium naming rights, a baseball official said Saturday. The source spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the deal will not be announced until Monday at the formal groundbreaking. This will be a record for U.S stadium naming rights, topping the approximately $10 million annually the NFL's Houston Texans receive from Reliant Energy to call their home Reliant Stadium. The agreement between the Mets and the financial services company includes options for both the team and Citigroup that could extend the deal to 35 years. Other commercial arrangements are part of the contract, the official said. Construction on the ballpark - next to the current stadium in Queens - began last summer and is scheduled to be ready for the 2009 season. The Mets have played at Shea Stadium since 1964, the team's third year in the league. The ballpark is named for William A. Shea, a lawyer who helped bring National League baseball back to New York . The decision comes three months after the U.S. Tennis Association renamed the nearby USTA National Tennis Center after tennis great Billie Jean King. Monday's announcement will take place at a ceremony to be attended by Gov. George Pataki and Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Citigroup is one of the world's largest full-service banks, with 200 million customers in more than 100 countries. Link Well we're falling even farther behind. Thirteen years ago the NL East had the worst stadiums in the MLB. Now every team in our division minus the Marlins either have a top 10 stadium or one in construction. Well hopefully the downtown stadium won't have horrble naming rights like CitiField.

Willingham at 1B
Yeah Gaby may need more expierence but it might not be too bad to throw him into the fire. Put him Carolina and see how he does. If he struggles no harm done, but if he dominates or even does reasonally well that might warrant him a spot in the 25 man. But we have to wait to see how Gaby does in Sping Traning and to showcase a healthy Jacobs for a possible trade.

Florida Marlins Bullpen Thread.....
We all know that the last years pen was the reason for the team's collapse down the stretch, but I actually think that in the 07 season we can actually have decent middle relief. Here's who I think who should be the 6 in the pen not including closer due to a closer tread already existing. RP Reynel Pinto RP Yusmiero Petit RP Chris Resop RP Jose Garcia RP Chris Volstad SU Taylor Tankersley and in late 07 hopefully DL Carlos Martinez DL Logan Kensing So how do you think next year's middle relief will shape up with realistic trades, signups, and callups?

Hammerin' Hank on WQAM said...
Woah this isn't all good news. If Selig is going to force out Loria or force him to partner with Codina (?) after the stadium is build that leaves him too much time to run the franchise into the ground. You know Loria is not going to sign no parternership cause he will have no leverage over the team and less profit. So he's gonna take his 20 million payroll for about three years letting D-Train and Cabrera go in trades and milking all of what he can through revenue sharing till he leaves. Once D-Train and Cabrera are gone i doubt they'll come back for new ownership.

Paying for parking?
First Post here on MarlinsBaseball Usually I don't pay for parking when I go to games. The best way to do is this to to enter at the Gate near the Turnpike enterance but it involves an akward U-turn.
