Benny is close to signing with KC people... Point being? my point being, Benny wants to start NOT be part of a 2-3 headed catching monster. KC can give him starts and DH time. Marlins already have two above average ( or better ) catchers under contract who have never gotten a full shot at starting.There is no reason to bring in another catcher ( Javy, LoDuca,Benny, Ramp... ) I feel that many of us have forgotten that this team is Small Market we cant build an all star team we have to build a true TEAM...

Furman, just because you think im wrong i will now pick apart this article to show you why i dont like it... Lowell takes gamble ok, this is not a gamble at all. Mikey would have gone through arbritration any way so the 1 year basic offer is no different then what he could have gotten. The danger comes if the Marlins, puffing out their chests from Lowell's severe hometown discount, expect Pudge Rodriguez to do the same for them in the next four days. he makes it seem as if Pudge is not nearly as loyal as Lowell without even seeing how ivan's negotiations go and is giving the impression that Mikey took some huge paycut. See, what happened with Lowell isn't just man-bites-dog stuff.
