  3. I'll be attending the FIU Football game and the Marlins game on Saturday. Since the FIU game starts at 5pm, I figure I can get a huge portion of the game and then head to the Marlins game that starts at 7:10pm. I can't be at two places at once, but I try!!!!! Go Panthers and GO MARLINS!

  6. If you google him, you'll see he has problems quite a few times so far this season with many other teams. He has already had problems with Bobby Cox and Mark DeRosa just to name a few.

  8. I know it's a Pacific storm.....it would just suck if it made the curve over Mexico and end up in the Gulf....It's too early for this. Yeah but it doesnt become an Atlantic storm, its still a Pacific Storm if it crosses over. If you were refering to any threat from it, I doubt it. Not refering to any threat. just something interesting especially since Hurricane season starts tomorrow and we already (even in the Atlantic names) got started.

  14. I went to see them back in either 1988 or 1989 when they had their concert at Joe Robbie Stadium. I sat with my parents in the Upper Deck on the opposite side of the stage. Talk about bofu! I'd go see them again...I actually met Danny Wood at a Marlins game in 2005

The weeklong celebration will culminate with the Annual Florida Marlins Broward Health FanFest on Saturday, Feb. 9 at Dolphin Stadium. The 2008 Broward Health Marlins Caravan will include stops that are open to the public in Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties starting on Monday, Feb. 4. Marlins fans will have the opportunity to meet Marlins players, coaches, front office executives, Billy The Marlin and Marlins Mermaids at several appearances throughout South Florida. The team will also visit local schools, little leagues, hospitals, non-profit organizations and private groups. In addition, the Florida Marlins will host a series of marquee events including the BankUnited Florida Marlins Celebrity Golf Classic on Thursday, Feb. 7 and the Fourth Annual Awards Dinner on Friday, Feb. 8. Reservations for the Marlins? official golf tournament will remain open until Monday, Feb. 4 with additional information available by calling (305) 623-6497. The team will conclude the 2008 Broward Health Caravan with the Annual Florida Marlins Broward Health FanFest on Feb. 9 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dolphin Stadium. For the first time this year, individual game tickets for the 2008 season, including the exhibition games against the New York Yankees, will be available at the stadium?s box office, beginning at 10 a.m. The event will include autograph sessions with Marlins players, interactive games for all ages, pressbox and clubhouse tours, town hall meetings and a photo station for an opportunity to take pictures with players, Billy The Marlin and the Marlins Mermaids.   21. :thumbup MARLINS AGREE ON 2008 CONTRACTS WITH AMEZAGA, GREGG, MITRE MIAMI - The Florida Marlins today announced they have reached agreements on 2008 contracts with Alfredo Amezaga, Kevin Gregg and Sergio Mitre, avoiding arbitration with all three players. On Thursday, the Marlins reached an agreement with Matt Treanor on a 2008 contract. The announcements were made by Marlins President of Baseball Operations Admin Beinfest. Amezaga appeared in 133 games last season, making appearances at seven different positions. He hit .263 (105x400) with 14 doubles, 46 runs and 13 stolen bases. He was signed by the Marlins as a free agent on Nov. 22, 2005. Gregg led the Marlins with 32 saves (36 opps.) and his 88.9 save percentage ranked third in the NL among pitchers with 30+ saves. He made a career-high 74 appearances and had a 3.54 ERA with 87 strikeouts in 84 innings. Gregg was acquired by the Marlins from Los Angeles (AL) on Nov. 20, 2006 in exchange for RHP Chris Resop. Mitre was 5-8, 4.65 in a career-high 27 games, all starts. He had a 2.85 ERA prior to the All-Star break and did not allow an earned run over three consecutive starts, May 25-June 5 (16.2 IP). Mitre was acquired in a four-player trade with the Cubs on Dec. 7, 2005. Treanor batted .269 with 46 hits, including four homers, in a career-high 171 at bats. He made 50 starts at catcher, matching his career-high, and was voted the Charlie Hough ?Good Guy? winner by the S. Florida chapter of the BBWAA. Unfortunately, my baby has been sick and now that she's recovering, she's getting all her vaccines on her Friday and I know that's going to be painful and stressful for her.
