Jersey Question
this whole deal is absolutely pointless.....again the stadium is great but miami marlins sounds like sh*t and if this is what they do 2 seasons before they need to change....then im pretty scared to see what the new jerseys and colors will be. its just so stupid.....did the rays remove the green stitching from the back left jersey number before they changed designs so that way they could "transition". useless. we should petition to bring the at least the sleeves back until 2012 Should have been Miami Marlins from the start. Florida Marlins made no sense....thanks to Wayne for that blunder....

Concept Renderings
I actually like the design, even tho I would prefer an Art Deco Design to fit in better with Miami... If we have to go modern, which it looks like we're going to do, this still keeps the inside from looking too much like those cookie cutter parks of the 70s....

Area around the new stadium.
The neighborhood isn't nice and doesn't have anything (right now) to do before or after a game, but it isn't dangerous or violent. It's important to remember that just because a neighborhood is run down (which it is), dirty (which it is) and poor (which it is), the people I have encountered around it are very friendly and it is safe. How much do you want to bet a player gets robbed and pistol whipped while leaving the stadium the first year. What a stupid comment..... This neighborhood is not anywhere close to as dangerous as Yankee Stadium, US Cellular, or even the Wrigley area after dark....

Finally, Good news on the stadium
Samson offered similar optimism about a new ballpark at the sight of the Miami Orange Bowl, a deal that he said is "very, very close." "I promise you this: Next year's FanFest, we're not talking about the stadium deal, we're talking about the construction, we're talking about how it's being built and what it's going to look like," Samson said to applause. Samson said the new ballpark would be "10 minutes" farther away from Palm Beach fans than Dolphin Stadium is now, and parking garages would be built to minimize traffic. "I don't know about that," said Ted Fox, 80, of Boynton Beach. "They should've been up there in Fort Lauderdale somewhere. "That place near the Panthers' stadium would've been perfect." Samson also promised the Marlins would stop trading away their high-priced players with the larger revenue streams he hopes will come with a new stadium. But only to an extent. "I always wondered what Admin could do with a $200 million payroll," broadcaster Tommy Hutton asked during the Town Hall. "And he's not going to find out," Samson answered back. http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports/conten...?cxntlid=inform Awesome, let's hope it comes true. The quote from the fan about building in Ft Lauderdale is something I am always amazed at....have they not been paying attention for the last 13 years? Yeah, because it worked SO well for the Panthers to be up in Broward....If I remember correctly, Huizinga was pushing them to move there, since that was where their fan base was....They have not drawn well at all since the new arena was built there....Can't wait to see the Marlins playing in Miami!!
