  1. only getting one run with the bases loaded and one out is a fail.... but ohh well at least we tied it up. Make that bases loaded and no outs..
  2. Well he gets out of the first, 1-0 Houston.

    Lights Out

Very good pilot. I think I found something to bridge the gap till April when Game of Thrones starts.
  5. f*** fiu. how the f*** did they pull that off. also f*** the ref that called that 4th and 17 a first down. f***. You're a Toledo fan? Maybe he bet on the game? check^ in hindsight it was a great game. congrats to fiu. with that said a 6-6 sun belt team should not have anything to be proud about. Having never before had a winning season, and then all of a sudden winning our first bowl game, as well as being Sun-Belt Co-Champions.... yeah we have plenty to be proud about. Plus we played most out of conference teams very competitively, including Texas A&M, which we should have beaten. I'm very happy with this season, I can't wait for next year.
  6. FIU playing great in the second half, it would be huge if we win this game!

    The Walking Dead

Stumbled upon this by chance after watching Dexter last night, not a big fan of zombies, but this show has got my attention. Very good first episode, I will be tuning in next week.
  8. If I had to do this to survive, I would die.
  9. When I looked at the match-ups for this series, I knew it wasn't going to be pretty. We could have won today though.
  10. The chicken runs at midnight major motion picture. Yeah, that'd be a tearjerker for sure. I'd come to the theatre with a box of tissues. I'm pretty sure there is going to be a movie about this in the near future. As for what movies I would like to see made, I would like to see a movie based on the book A Hundred Years of Solitude. Loved that book, although I doubt anyone could pull it off, in fact I think it would be impossible to pull it off, especially since the other Marquez movie adaptation (Love in the Time of Cholera) was atrocious, still, I would like to see someone give it a try. HBO is coming out with the series 'A Game of Thrones', I love the books so I'm looking forward to that.
  11. Stanton has more power than any 20 year old I have ever seen in the six decades I have been an avid baseball fan. Power to all fields. The only one close was ARod, but he wasn't real close. Giancarlo is the next great power hitter. A-Rod had 36 HR and 54 2B as a 20-year-old. That's still better than Stanton. In 600 ABs and he had 200 Major league at bats prior to that season. Plus he was probably on the juice lol.

    8/11 Post Game

    I didn't see Dunn's HR, but Stanton's HR looked further than Hanley's. Stanton's HR was a shot, but Hanley's was a bomb.
  13. There goes the perfect game/no hitter....

OK I'm not a 'hot ass' kind of guy but HOLY sh*t!
  15. Leo just needs to use his change up more efficiently, some times it's all he throws. You have a 95+ mph fastball, that's your out pitch, change up should only be there to keep hitters honest. I feel he likes his change up a little too much. We discussed this after the BS a couple nights ago. Leo's change-up has been evaluated very highly, and I don't doubt that it is a very good pitch and very hard to hit when used at the right time. But the one thing it isn't is a stand-alone pitch that will be effective without being properly set up. When Leo struggles, its his change-up (or his rarely-used slider) that seems to be getting hit a lot. Its possible that his fastball gets hit a higher percentage of the time (as the numbers indeed show), but if he throws his change-up too much, it is more hittable than the fastball, which is fairly hard to hit on its own. His change-up can be an out pitch though. Just not when he uses it too much. Yeah I haven't seen the numbers on that, I will have to check them out. It's just seems that every time he has a 1-2 or an 0-2 count he is throwing a change up automatically.

  17. Leo should be a set up man. He'd seem perfect in that role. He's an average closer in the majors imo. Not great, but far from the worst. Luckily for the Marlins, the one thing we are very deep in minor league talent is at the relief pitcher spot. Far from the worst, but few of the guys who are worse at this point are really being sold as long-term options, they are merely filling the role until their team finds somebody to be the guy in 2011. Leo, on the other hand, was uncontested last off-season despite sub-par performance last year, and few fans here are even willing to admit that Leo should not be the man. Given how little care the Fo shows the pen, I doubt they bring in anyone to challenge him, though they could deal him. So who has enough killer instinct in our pen to close games? Just curious... Definitely Cinder or Fulgor. We also have Chief Thunder down in the AA.
