The other factor to all this is an abysmal offense. With Jose, Alvarez, and Cosart getting healthier, do the Fish trade the likes of Latos, Haren, Cishek, and Prado in exchange for some instant offense? See . . . who says watching a team with a losing record is no fun?

Latos is definitely a wild card. If he throws well tonight and in his next couple of starts, he could still be traded given a higher perceived value. Realistically, I predict Latos and his salary get dumped and Urena stays in the rotation.

Although the trade deadline is looming, I would still like to see how the rotation of Fernandez, Alvarez, Cosart, Latos, and Koehler do for the rest of the season. Wishful thinking.

Okay . . . last night we couldn't do many things right. Tonight, Latos gets shellacked in the first inning . . . Crap, I thought the fish played pretty well in spring training - geez. :huh

Wild Card - true. I also like the lefty righty options with Dunn and Ramos/Capps.

If the offense matures, like Hechavarria and solano improve, watch out. Think about salty vs. brantly, mcgehee vs. polanco and yelich vs. Pierre.....no comparison. Jones vs. Morrison is a toss up. Furcal should be an improvement over Dietrich, at least by average. Vince - good points. The improvements are obvious when you look position by position. If we can stay healthy and our pitching stays solid, I'm telling you, could be "near" the top of the NL East.

Perhaps too elementary of an assessment, but Cogs/Rugg seem faster than Ozuna. Plus, I presume Ozuna will continue to get a little larger as his career progresses. I like the idea of having a speedy CF at Marlins Park.

I really like Ozuna, but I wonder with the large outfield dimensions of Marlins Park, if the long term plan is to move him to LF? Cogs/Rugg/Yelich could slide over to CF. Just a defensive thought.

Watched the Fish and Braves last night. Eovaldi looked really good and the Marlins played well on defense. However, I was a little dishearted by the lack of offense. Late in the game, Tommy Hutton mentioned that the Marlins had yet to get a base hit to the outfield. :swoon Coach Martinez has his work cut out for him I'm afraid.
