  1. he's an innings horse. He's the #2 we needed. It's great. Yep and a lefty. He's just solid baseball player all around and good club house guy. Love this signing. Hopefully add another arm and we're looking at a pretty decent rotation. It will still all come back to JJ's health throughout the year.
  2. I'd rather get 2 SP's than Pujols. The upgrade from Volstad and Javy to Buehrle and someone decent figures to be a better use of money than an upgrade from Gaby to Pujols. We could sign Buehrle and Wilson and take less risk than signing Pujols for 9 years, and our team would probably be much better off. It would essentially make us a complete team. Agreed. Not that I'd be too upset if we did get Pujols instead of ptiching
  3. Trading Morrison just makes a lot more sense for the team (A's): Younger than Gaby, has a higher value on the market, can play 1B or LF, is also under team control for the next couple of years. What I'd be curious to see is if the A's trade would also include Nolasco. Isn't Nolasco one of those pitchers that the metrics centered people like? Gio is an upgrade over Nolasco for us and for the A's they get a major league ready pitcher to replace Gio in the rotation. Of course in that scenario I assume the A's would throw in a position player as well, perhaps a minor leaguer. Maybe I'm one of the few , but I'm honestly not all that crazy about giving up LoMo. Losing a left handed bat w/ some pop in the lineup. I like Gaby a lot, but think I'd rather move him if we're trading for a quality starter.
  4. I want a black hat with a small logo if I can find one. The Franchise Fitted version may be what you're looking for. It's in the mlb.com store. Yep thanks they also have an adjustable version with the small logo. Keeping my eye out for a visor too
  5. Hate to say it but the new look is starting to grow on me. I don't hate it anymore. The size of the logo on the cap still needs to be dialed down, but all in all, it's OK. I'm with ya, just think the yellow throws it off a little but no big. I really like the black road and BP jerseys. Hopefully they will eventually be available w/ Marlins on the front instead of Miami. I'll definitely scoop one up if so. For that reason alone I think I actually like the orange jersey the best right now. I want a black hat with a small logo if I can find one.
  6. If this does indeed somehow get worked out and Hanley moves, I think I'd rather have him at 3rd than CF. I rather have Boni chasing down balls in center than Hanley jogging after them and stubbing his big toe. I'm kidding there but you get my point. Anyone think there is the possibility of Infante going to 3rd, Reyes at 2nd? Either way I love the thought of having both Infante and Reyes in our infield. Throw in Gaby at 1st of course and that's a pretty damn solid field. There's no reason to have a GG caliber 2B in Infante switch positions and a GG caliber SS in Reyes switch positions just to make Hanley stop crying... He'll have to sack up and move to the hot corner. Everyone knew he would outgrow SS years ago, this is no surprise. Agreed

  8. I wouldn't worry about Buck unless it's a Saturday afternoon game, which we may indeed get a few times this yr. I would guess that 4/4 opening game will be ESPN since it's a Wed night. Prolly Shulman/Orel and other guy who I can't think of at the moment. Whens the last time Marlins have been on ESPN?
  9. No Infante or Buck? No like. However that lineup(assuming they stayed healthy) could probably get us in the playoffs, but don 't see a WS. Like already mentioned the rotation looks a bit weak.
  10. Back on here for first time in a couple years under new name. Looking forward to the new season. Marlins fan since I moved to FL from Ky back in 98. The new jerseys have grown on me a little but still not crazy about them or the hats. What we wear are least of my concerns though. Most importantly I want to be contenders again, it's been way too long. Usually hop across the Alley for 2-3 games every year at the old place. Can't wait to check out the new park this Spring.
