State of our world address

Television, movies, newspapers and magazines are mostly filled with meaningless chatter. People become famous for no good reason. Literacy is on the decline. Good books, by and large, go unread. The sensitive and the insightful go largely unrecognized. Official discourse is vulgar and shallow. Standing on principle is considered bizarre. Money and youth and fame are everything.

Hmm, more the reason to go to my website, to get away from the mindless media chatter ;)

What irks me most is when people like Chomsky are considered "insightful". Sorry I keep bring it up, I just hate that guy.

I'm too tired that no one reads, that TV but baseball sucks, that the agressive always prevail, and idiocy runs rampid. Sigh.

I don't know about the youth thing though, all the world's dictators...err...leaders are 50 or older.

What is this, the Pat Ourselves on the Backs because We're So Deeper than Everyone Else thread?

Its more a thread about value, but I expected a post like yours sooner or later. Value? What you said is the same thing as any pompous, idealistic teenager or young adult would say! Heard it a million times before.
