CapeFish
I cannot believe you guys already are crying about how the sky is falling because our bullpen doesn't have a guy to pitch the 5th, 6th, and possibly the 7th innings. In the bullpen, all that matters is getting the W, not the exact roles. Benitez has been doing well as has Fox. I think those two will be more important along with a wildcard like Wayne or Neal to make this bullpen acceptable for contention. Burnett should go in the pen when he returns to get back his form and practice. AJ is a strikeout pitcher and we need one in the pen. Then next spring, he will compete for a job in the rotation if he wants or stay in the bullpen if he wants.
KJC
we will see. However it is obviouse some forget this is a small market organization who doesnt like harming the future by giving lopsided deals and big free agent bucks.
bman8316
I dont care how it gets done as long as the Fish come out on top.

nc marlin
Its pretty amazing how much the mood has changed here in the past week or so.
TSwift25
Yeah, but look at the flipside of the argument: we don't exactly want to give games away in the beginning. Everyone seems to agree we're pretty thin in the pen so why not try to strengthen our one glaring weakness...
Das Texan
well if our starters are gonna average over 6 innings a start...then we dont really have to worry about having only 2 maybe 3 reliable people in the pen.
DTrizzle
Burnett in the bullpen.....that's actually pretty awesome if you think about it Better used as a starter though
JBurque
I'd like to see AJ come out of the Pen for a few weeks when he's ready but he's 100000000x more useful as the badass starter we all know and love.

KJC
I opened-up a yogurt, underneath the lid it said, "Please try again." because they were having a contest that I was unaware of. I thought maybe I opened the yogurt wrong. ...Or maybe Yoplait was trying to inspire me... "Come on Mitchell, don't give up!" An inspirational message from your friends at Yoplait, fruit on the bottom, hope on top. that joke was one of my favs
Guest Juanky
"I want to be a race car passenger: just a guy who bugs the driver. "Say man, can I turn on the radio? You should slow down. Why do we gotta keep going in circles? Can I put my feet out the window? Man, you really like Tide..." ^ Another classic If you have not heard this man, you need to. If you have, do these look familiar? Wow, what a crappy 6,500th post.

Hugg
Yeah, but look at the flipside of the argument: we don't exactly want to give games away in the beginning. Everyone seems to agree we're pretty thin in the pen so why not try to strengthen our one glaring weakness... Agreed. I'd certainly like it we made a move, I think we're going to need to at some point. But, I also see no reason to go jumping off of bridges, as some people sound like they're about to do. Haven't you guys realized by now that we don't do things the easy way? If the bullpen was stacked and we had no question marks, we wouldn't be who we are. We're just making things interesting, like always. Florida Marlins Baseball = It's a lot of things, but dull ain't one of em.
Skully
The Marlins front office has already said they will not put A.J in the bullpen when he comes back. He's either starting or nothing. It would be nice to see him come back and get some work in there. I'm sure he'd be very solid, but it's not gonna happen. And for those that like Mitch Hedberg, you should listen to Demetri Martin as well. Same kind of style, but he also uses pictures on stage and he has his friends as part of his act....The guy is hilarious.
jonnylons
No. I do NOT want to see AJ in the pen. It is a waste of time. For Smoltz, ok, because he is in the twilight of his career and you just upped his value. Smotlz would not be nearly as dominant as a starter. AJ in the pen would be a waste of talent.
