March 31, 200422 yr I liked Old Man and the Sea... I thought 1984 was kind of overrated. I much preferred Brave New World.
March 31, 200422 yr Author Really? I found Brave New World awfully shallow, aimless, and a blatant copy of We by evgeni Zamyatin, something 1984 is guilty of, but at least Orwell kind of admitted it. Not to say brave new world wasn't good, but c'mon, the savage looks like an idiot when he talks to Mond. Huxley tries to prove a point and totally fails. Old man and the sea is too simple and short for me. Let me jsut say, Brave new world and old man and the sea aren't bad reads. I just like discussing stuff like this.

March 31, 200422 yr The Scarlett Letter. Worst. Book. Ever. Yeah, I didn't like The Scarlet Letter very much either. I also didn't enjoy The Color Purple.
March 31, 200422 yr The first time I read A Catcher in the Rye I thought it was overrated. But I've read it probably 12-13 times and I love it more each time I read it.

March 31, 200422 yr I agree with 2 of the posts here. The Scarlett Letter and Hucklberry Finn both I read this year for English. Extremely over-rated especially, The Scarlett Letter biggest piece of crap ever. So much useless information in the story. I found probably one chapter remotely interesting.
April 1, 200422 yr Lord of the Rings. Seriously overrated and dry. I was bored to tears but admit to reading all four books in the series on a road trip to and back to Florida. Debating preferance of books... That's a new one...
