minus_13
Can the Marlins' starting pitching be this good? I am just blown away by how this season has started. I think that Jack pushing the starters in the spring is really paying off. It looks like our pitchers are in mid-season form while the hitters they face are catching up. I am just amazed. The Marlins could be a really special team this year... AS IF LAST YEAR WASN'T ENOUGH! Penny's numbers against Expos 4/13/04: IP 8 H 2 R 0 ER 0 BB 0 SO 10 Current ERA: 1.80 I guess he was pissed about the weak run support in his last outing... Shaq-Man
we dont need no stinkin bullpen... at least not for now. these long outings from the starters are really impressive... i could never have predicted this sort of start
FishFanPR
At this pace, the All Star game will be a rematch of the World Series....hehe. :notworthy
dirtpeddler
we dont need no stinkin bullpen... at least not for now. these long outings from the starters are really impressive... i could never have predicted this sort of start About two months ago I said we don't need no stinking roof ! A reference to the Bogart movie Sierra Madre-- Well it looks like all we need is a stick and a ball. How bout that.
jonnylons
6-1. Wow. Pitching has been the best in MLB thus far, in my opinion. This team has not really looked shaky against anyone - give or take a few batters.

Prime Time
The pitching has been excellent to say the least. 7 quality starts in a row, and our hitting is coming together. If this team can keep it up, they can do BIG BIG things.
Beinfest4Prez
This team is going to surprise the doubters! In other news Phillies fans are staking out at Citizen's Bank Ballpark with torches and pitchforks calling for Bowa to get the axe... :thumbup

In other news Phillies fans are staking out at Citizen's Bank Ballpark with torches and pitchforks calling for Bowa to get the axe... :thumbup They said in around the horn that it's basically a matter of time.... :mischief2 I can't wait to see all the Phillies fans' faces as they watch the Marlins beat the crap out of them next week! This time, in THEIR stadium.
Prime Time
It really is amazing. All the experts said the Phillies would win the division and said we wouldn't make the playoffs and look at the start of the season.

RossInfoMan
For the first time in my life, I agreed with Mariotti on ATH today. He said "The Marlins are going to be better than anyone thinks."
bman8316
Much like football where defense wins championship, I think that in baseball, pitching wins championships and right now no one is hotter than our pitching.
nc marlin
Much like football where defense wins championship, I think that in baseball, pitching wins championships and right now no one is hotter than our pitching. You gotta have offense and luck too though. If not the A's would have won a few championships by now and the Braves would have won more than one in the 90s. Yeah, the A's don't have Juan Pierre, Miguel Cabrera, Mike Lowell, and He Seop Choi, among others
Das Texan
and people think you have to coddle pitchers in spring. maybe this will start to change things.
FreshFish
Very promising start. However, let's not get ahead of ourselves. We have a very LONG and though road trip coming. Let's see if we can keep the momentum and win more than 50% of the West Coast games.
zzdunlapj
The trip to Colorado and San Fran scares me at the end of the month (the fish never play well in those places...at least in the regular season)...but so far, so good, no complaints here.
