6-1: Starting pitching continues to roll!

Can the Marlins' starting pitching be this good? I am just blown away by how this season has started. I think that Jack pushing the starters in the spring is really paying off. It looks like our pitchers are in mid-season form while the hitters they face are catching up. I am just amazed. The Marlins could be a really special team this year... AS IF LAST YEAR WASN'T ENOUGH!

Penny's numbers against Expos 4/13/04:

IP 8

H 2

R 0

ER 0

BB 0

SO 10

Current ERA: 1.80

I guess he was pissed about the weak run support in his last outing...

we dont need no stinkin bullpen... at least not for now.

these long outings from the starters are really impressive... i could never have predicted this sort of start

About two months ago I said we don't need no stinking roof ! A reference to the Bogart movie Sierra Madre-- Well it looks like all we need is a stick and a ball. How bout that.

This team is going to surprise the doubters!

In other news Phillies fans are staking out at Citizen's Bank Ballpark with torches and pitchforks calling for Bowa to get the axe... :thumbup

They said in around the horn that it's basically a matter of time.... :mischief2 I can't wait to see all the Phillies fans' faces as they watch the Marlins beat the crap out of them next week! This time, in THEIR stadium.

Much like football where defense wins championship, I think that in baseball, pitching wins championships and right now no one is hotter than our pitching.

You gotta have offense and luck too though. If not the A's would have won a few championships by now and the Braves would have won more than one in the 90s.
