Actually, post-war Japan and Germany had no problems, because we had a ridiculous number of troops occupying each country. We just haven't had enough troops in Iraq at all, and the generals involved in the invasion say that they didn't have plans for the occupation. It's clear that we weren't ready, from the day that Iraqis started looting in the streets unchecked. At the end of WWII we had no troops in Japan. Japan surrendered after we dropped the second atomic bomb on Nagasaki. We never invaded Japan, we used the atomic bomb to prevent an Invasion, we had troops on outlying islands such as Iwo Jima. We had millions of troops in Germany, Poland, and where the Nazi's once reigned. That did provide stability in the region where they and us rebuilt what the war had damaged. We should have had more troops on the ground in Iraq but that is History, and that is a mistake that has been learned from. We should have had about 350,000 troops to Invade Iraq instead of the 260,000 that we had. Somebody recently asked me (I'm a Military buff) how many troops we need for Iran; I boldly suggested numbers close to those of Desert Storm, and invasion force of about 500,000 U.S. troops with another 100,000 Coalition which would have followed strategic air strikes on the nuclear facilities, military targets (armorment) and the capital of Tehran. The United States Military is fully capable of sustaining a war in Iran. Not to mention that we are already startegically placed in 2 border countries of Iran; Iraq and Afghanistan, that gives us a way in and also porvides us with close military bases. You just can not do airstrikes. You have to go all of the way with Iran, I hope Diplomacy works, but were dealing a man who wants to wipe the U.S., our allies, and Israel off the map. I don't think were gonna get through with him. The scariest thing is the recent claim of how Iran "Has 40,000 suicide bombers armed and ready to go." I think that they need to prove that they have 40,000 suicide bombers ready to go ,if theyare going to scare anyone. Say, they should get together in some square or assembly point of some kind so we can get an accurate count to see if it is 40,000. Then we can make them go poof!

Ah, the great Brian Moehler. Or as I call him Holer, cause he's a black hole. he sucks worse than any known entity in the universe. You have to feel for Girardi on this one, put yourself in his shoes for a minute. You have to fill in a whole bunch of innings pitched ,while breaking in a new rotation. Not easy. Season is young.

This first series makes me feel that they can get to my predicted 68 wins. I know everyone wants more but wait till next year for the 500 season and the year after for a run at the playoffs. I only hope they do what Cleveland did years ago after they put together a good group of young players,and that is to start signing them to long term contracts. Keep them together as a team. It works.

Seems to me everyone is all of a sudden looking forward to watching them play. Just to figure out if they are for real. Good!
